I’m experiencing issues with Magic Keyboard. For example, in Safari in google.com pressing return key does not trigger the search.

Had issues adding stacks. It appears if I wanted to select "Battery" I had to select the item below it. So basically the touch sense was off.

Had one crash with beta 1, came back to tab to find it powered off. The only other thing I thought was a show stopper bug in beta 2 was not being able to connect to local machines but turned out the private relay was switched back on and was overriding dns, although I could have sworn it was working with local dns in beta 1. I just had to manually close Safari the bookmark bar was stuck with UI to close it offscreen, a few times when I did that in beta 1 it didn’t remember tabs and had to start from scratch, not seen that again yet.

From what I remember from most early betas over the years (tried them all from 10 onwards iirc) this is one of the most stable at this stage, but remember it can get less so in future builds as can sometimes happen in beta process.

Went back and forth about installing the public beta, and finally did yesterday afternoon. It’s been surprisingly solid for me. The only issue I have noticed is that the flashlight didnt work initially but after a reboot it‘s fine.

Has then MAGNIFIER app always existed? Or is that new?

Been using Public Beta 1 for the past few days now on my 12.9” M1 iPad Pro

For the most part, the beta is extremely stable. No major problems. The only issues I have seen is with the Magic Keyboard and Apple Mail. Sometimes the keyboard will delete email messages and sometimes it will not.

Also, once in awhile an app will crash and I have to restart it.

However, for a first public beta, this OS seems to be safe to use

same, as a heavy user on my iPad Pro this thing is running so f good.

iOS 15 is on my main iPhone.SE 2020
i like it all my apps running fine. I dont go back to 14.
only in Safari sometimes the back button dont work then i must close the app and restart but no data loss.

An intermittent issue yesterday was when typing ’e’ on the Magic Keyboard and on the software keyboard, instead of printing ‘e’ it would bring up the emoji menu. Then after a minute or so the problem would go away. It happened to me three times yesterday.

So far so good on my iPad Pro, save for the random respring here and there.
I’m using it on an new iPad Pro and Safari is very buggy. Sometimes websites won’t load, other times scrolling doesn’t work. I may downgrade if it continues.

I have some things to say about the new redesign of safari, but can't say I have run into any performance issues yet. Guess that's why it's a beta. You are using the 2021 iPad Pro?

Multiple widgets stacks randomly and repeatedly insert Siri Suggestions widget
There’s a little button when you edit the stack that you can turn on and off to disable this. It seems it’s some sort of feature. Though an utterly annoying one.

It’s existed as a control centre app for quite a while, but I believe it’s new as a proper app. Not sure why the change though.

How stable is iOS 15 and other beta softwares (watch OS, etc.) ?

Can I upgrade directly from the public beta releases to the general release in Sept.?

iOS 15 is (at least for me) more stable on my phone than it is on my iPad. However my experience on iPad is NOT bad at all, it’s just that it’s going more “smoothly” on my phone. iPad has had a few minor hiccups (app crashes, mainly). Both are my day-to-day use devices.

tvOS…haven’t installed it yet, but am going to

macOS…haven’t installed it. Like my phone and iPad, it’s a day-to-day use device and while I don’t have anything against putting a beta on my MacBook, I’m just like the idea of keeping it as my “stable” device.

watchOS…haven’t installed it. As I understand it, it’s a pain if something goes wrong, so I’m staying off of that one.

no one here can guarantee what your experience will be, there are too many variables (our hardware, apps, settings, usage). but i'll say that, for me, ios15 has been running beautifully; literally all my apps work. this is impressive since we're at the very beginning of the beta cycle.

diving into the betas (especially at the beginning) means you're willing to take the risks involved; i'd suggest, be sure you are...

Back up your devices and get in there, very stable. 👌

Yes, delete the profiles when you want to jump off the betas and wait for the final release.

This ☝️

You’ll have to send your watch back to Apple if something goes wrong.

Figured it was something along those lines! Just wasn’t sure if it was a case of having to actually send it in or if you could take it to an Apple Store and have it taken care of there (which is what I thought it was last year…and why I didn’t do it since there are two Apple Stores within a 45 minute drive of me, but they were both closed of course).

Keep in mind that just because this current beta is stable the next release could totally break things, this is why it is NOT recommended to install the beta on a primary device.
Also true. While beta 2 is going well for me, I would say that beta 1 (except for Safari) was a liiiiitle bit better.

Definitely something to keep in mind. Positive experiences on one beta don’t always transfer to the next!
