How many devices (you currently use) do you have plugged into the Apple Ecosystem?

Well I was at 6 just counting devices signed into my iCloud account (MBA, iPadx2, iPhone, AW, ATV), but I see others are counting AirPods and Beats devices, so with my Solo 3 and BeatsX make that 8 that I use. I also have 3 older iPhones, an iPod Touch and iPod Nano that I didn’t count since I don’t really use them anymore. I’ve never actually added it all up, but it’s crazy how much I’ve spent on Apple products over the years.

Technically AirPods & BeatsX (and your Solo 3) are tied to your Apple ID to help you pair with any device you're signed into.

iPhone XS Max
iPad Pro cellular 9.7”
2011 MacBook Air
Series 4 SBSS 44mm Apple Watch

iPhone 8, iPad 6th generation, Apple Watch Series 3, HomePod, AirPods, Apple TV and Apple Music Subscription.

It’s a nice ecosystem to be in, not perfect by any means but does the job for the family and I.

Curious as to how attached people are to the ecosystem - Are you happy with just the one device connected to IOS, are you going all-in with many bits of hardware, or somewhere in between?

Just include your personal, current range of products (not other members of your family, nor prior devices you no longer use).
So…based on your criteria, three devices.

1. iPhone 6s+, iOS 9.0.2 - Jailbroken
2. iPad 6th Gen, iOS 12.1
3. Early 2008 15" MacBook Pro, OS X 10.11.6 El Capitan

I am not in any way attached to the ecosystem. I use it, when I have devices that are capable of using it, for minor things (mainly iMessage) but I have no reliance or dependency on it.

PS. I am interpreting 'prior devices I no longer use' to mean devices that are not my primary device. If I were to include them then I would have three more devices that are plugged into the ecosystem.

MacBook (2015)
iPhone X
iPhone XS Max
12.9 IPP (2015) Cellular
11” IPP Cellular
Apple Watch 3 Cellular
iPad Air 2 Cellular

Tried very hard not to get the 11 IPP, because I just got the Air 2 for $100 used from work. But Verizon was having a $250 off Black Friday sale and I had an iPhone 8 I traded in so got the iPad (64gb), Keyboard and a folio case for $624. Went with their protection plan for $3/mo.

Used most days:
13" MacBook Pro mid-2012
MacBook (2010)
iPad Pro 10.5”
iPad 4th gen
iPad mini 2
iPhone SE
iPhone 5C and 4S, both used as WiFi-only devices
5th gen iPod touch

Used a few times a week:
older iPods - nanos, shuffles, classics etc., loaded via iTunes

This is incorrect; it’s not the hardware that ties you to the ecosystem, it’s the software and services. So with that said:

iCloud (3GB used, drive, mail, notes, photos)
macOS (exclusive apps)
iOS (exclusive apps)
App Store (60ish purchases)
Mac App Store (30ish purchases, mostly pro apps and games)
Apple Books (25ish purchases, 150ish uploads)
iTunes (40ish movies...but MoviesAywhere gets me out, 2 TV seasons)
Apple Music (11000 curated songs, 2500 of those uploaded)
iMessage (about 60% of my contacts)
Apple Pay Cash card

and the biggest lock-in that ensures my continued usage of Apple devices:

Xcode

I’m also a happy Microsoft user as well, I try to keep my feet in both camps, with none left for Google.

It's funny that people say Apple isn't good at services, but you are right. I'd say these software/services are the real reasons Apple is "sticky" for me:

macOS
iOS
iCloud
Activity App / Health App
App Store
iTunes
Apple Music
iMessage
FaceTime
HomeKit
Apple Pay

Let's see... In my family we've got:
iPhone XR
iPhone 8+
13" MB Air (me)
13" MB Air (wife)
13" MB Air (me through work)
13" MB Air (wife through work)
iPad mini 2 (me)
iPad mini (wife)
iPad mini (daughter)
42mm Apple Watch Series 0 (me)
38mm Apple Watch Series 0 (wife)
44mm Apple Nike Watch (for me under the Christmas tree)
Apple TV 3rd gen
Apple TV 4th gen
And probably 4-5 ids floating around in various states of functionality

It's safe to say we're pretty vested in Apple's Ecosystem.

I’m looking at this from a hardware perspective. Not debating what exactly reels you in...

Interesting to see people have many of the same product that they’re still using.

Wondering why the need is for this?

Also doesn’t the notification management get annoying?:)

Which of those do you use regularly & consider your personal devices? Or are they just all shared between house members?

IPP 12.9 G2 LTE - personal device
iPhone 8+ - work phone
rMB 2015 - personal

Unless something really positive comes into play in 2019, this number will very likely shrink further.

2 years ago I had 7 - Macbook Air, Mac mini, Apple TV, iPad, iPhone 7 and Apple Watch, and an iPhone 4 for work.

Now, that's down to 2 and a bit.

I still have the iPad, and the Apple TV, though that's just collecting dust (I only have 4 HDMI ports, and it didn't make the cut), and now have an iPhone SE for work, soon to be upgraded to a 7.

I now have a Surface Pro 4, custom mini-ATX Windows 10 PC, Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy Watch. 3 out of these 4 things were half the price of the equivalent Apple device, or less!

Surface - £750 including type cover, vs £1599 for a 12" Macbook with identical specs.

Self built PC, £253 all in, with 8th gen i3, vs £799 Mac mini.

S9 - Trade in cost to change: £329, vs £839 to change to XS.

Galaxy Watch - £279, vs £399, though to be fair the series 3 is only £299.

Not after your entire history of IOS devices. Just the ones you’re using currently.

I haven't included former devices and family members' devices
Thanks. :D

iPhone 8 Plus.
iPad 6th Gen.

I wouldn’t say that I get too tied down to any one ecosystem. I use Windows PCs, I use many Google services including Chrome as my main browser on all my devices, and I used to use an Android tablet alongside my iPhone before getting an iPad.

I have the following just for me - just counting things I still use.

Macbook Air
iPad mini 2
iPhone 6
iPod nano 7G
AW S2
Apple TV 4
Apple TV 2
Time Capsule
Airport Extreme
