Week 23 SR MBP LG Screen PERFECT!

Hard drive failed after two months. Guess thats the luck of the draw. No other problems.

Just got my SR MBP 2.6, PERFECT screen. Gotta admit, was expecting to get a bad one.

Got the mbp same day it was releases. Screen is 100% perfect from day one!

Very happy overall, however the opengl drivers blow. The api sucks, and ive logged so many complaints over this issue its just useless now.

i'm getting my 2.2 mbp delivered today. we'll see what it looks like. it's a replacement for a 2.16 c2d that had so many problems apple decided to just send me a new one.

Week 49 build (replacement) and the screen does not display any yellowing or dead pixels.

The bottom still shows a little bit of unevenness in terms of backlighting (it's slightly darker) but it's acceptable considering my past 4 screens (repairs). First one had a 'pinched' bottom 1/3 and it was extremely bright + yellowing (LG), second one - bottom 1/3 was very bright (LG), third one - dead pixels + uneven backlighting (Samsung) along the top half and the fourth one - uneven backlighting (LG).

And fair enough. I'm going to do a favor for Apple as they did for me with this replacement. Considering, I had the system for two months already (technician scratched it and poked a tiny hole on the right speaker side, squeaky spacebar) -- they gave me a replacement after 3 repairs and upgraded my hard drive to a 200GB 7200RPM + gave me Leopard.. I can't complain too much.

So, yes, I'm keeping it. After a week of no laptop + using dirty public University Windows computers.. it made me appreciate the laptop 100000x more.

CRAP! I just got 2.2 c2d 15.4" glossy, and it has horrible uneven lighting and some yellowish discoloration.

It's going in for repairs, because they won't allow me to return it since it's a replacement for a 2.16 c2d that had many, many problems.

About 6 of my friends and coworkers were considering buying Macs, but after seeing all of my problems they have all decided to stick with PC's. What's worse, now they just laugh at all the problems I have with my Mac.

I used to say, "well at least the operating system is better." While that's still true, I'm beginning to think that it doesn't make up for all the hardware problems I've had.

LOL. That's rich :^) Seriously though, I can think of a dozen different PCs I'd rather buy than a MBP. Those things are *way* too buggy to drop two grand on. I don't have time to play test pilot for Apple's half-baked hardware. Props to those who do, but I wouldn't touch the MBP with a ten-foot pole.
