Just curious, does the UK/Europe offer unlimited data plans?

O2 offered U/L web until iPhone 4 came out then the new contracts changed to 500MB, 750MB, and 1GB data allowances depending on how much you pay per month in return they changed it to U/L texts... Whoopee do

How did you get friends and family on the 450 minute plan?

I have the same plan and it took multiple calls to Verizon before I got f&f on the 450 plan. I had to escalate to Retentions, but I finally got it. It is not usual though and all the reps are basically trained to say that it is not available on the 450 plan. The promo is over now (ended 1/31/11) so I think it may be too late to make changes.
