I see a lot of posters mentioning discounts. Got started thinking about the discount AT&T employees receive. 50%?

I work for a healthcare company and qualify for 24%.

Thailand

I am on the TRUE 3G network in Thailand and have the following plan for my unlocked white 16gb iPhone 4 (paid THB24,000.00 / USD800.00):

- 300 minute talk time
- 300 SMS
- 50 MMS
- 3 Gb of data at 7.2mb/s on (unlimited data @ 256kb/s) on 3G
- unlimited data on EDGE
- unlimited wifi hot spot access

All of the above for USD20.00 (THB599.00) per month

+ 100 minute talk time add-on (USD3.50/THB100)
+ miscellaneous charges (about USD3.50/THB100)
+ 7% government VAT

= approx. THB850.00 (USD30.00) in total per month

Mine is like this:

4 iPhones

2 with Unlimited Data

1 with 2GB

1 with 500mb or whatever it is

Unlimited family text

700 anytime minutes

Unlimited mobile to mobile on any network

Plus my AT&T Discount of 15%

All comes out to about $215-$225 depending on taxes

4 people with only 700 minutes!?

I "NEVER" talk on the phone (300-400 minutes a month) and can get by with the 450 minute plan but Only 700 minutes for 4 people? That's crazy.

I'm pretty shocked at what some people are paying per month.

My bill would really shock you. Being a huge smartphone enthusiast with many phones and dedicated lines is rather expensive. AT&T and Verizon are the benefactors. I enjoy choices and have lots of phones to choose from.

At the end of the day it's a much better vice than smoking and drinking

Once just for kicks, I calculated what I save by not doing either. Using the patterns of some of my college acquaintances, made my out of pocket expense for phones and Mac stuff look trivial :)

When I had first bought my 3G I was only paying like 45-504 a month and I had my 10 but only 100 daytime minutes

Verizon

Family Plan:
1400 minutes
Unlimited texting
Unlimited data
4 BlackBerrys
1 iPhone

$212/month

$35.50 after bundle discount. MTS Canada

Just to explain, I have home phone, internet, tv and cell.
Home phone, internet and tv gave me a $10/month credit.
Adding the iphone now gives me a total of $43/month credit.

The iphone contract is actually $68.50/month.

Im on the same plan 700 is only for landlines mobile to ANY mobile are free so for me 700 plus rollover is more then enough. We probably use 100-150 if that of the 700 every month.

AT&T - 2 iPhone 4s

1 with 2GB data
1 with 4GB data w/tethering (for my MacBook Air :p)
1400 minutes w/ unlimited mobile to mobile (any network)
unlimited text

With no discounts applied, it's usually about $190/month.
