I uploaded it onto my youtube.

What a numbnut.

He complains that iChat doesn't work because none of his friends are online.

heh. Dumbass think that a broken MacBook means he should get a MacBook Pro free. No, a warranty means you get the thing replaced with the same one.

So I wonder what his computer is doing to cause it to be so 'hot'? I run a folding@home client all the time, and my MBP, after 24+ hours of this still only runs it's fan at a slightly audible level, and it regularly gets over 150°F. That's perfectly within operating limits.

I'm not defending Apple here, i couldn't care less. I think it's disgusting that spoiled kids like that destroy something just to have something better, while 90% of all other mac users have to save up money to be able to afford one.
It's like those ******* "rock stars" who trash their 2000 dollar Fender guitars just to look cool while kids work summer jobs for months to save up.
This kid needs to go live in a 3rd world country for 12 months.

em wrong! actually in this case fender sponsors them and requires them to destroy it to gain publicity. You really think they care about those guitars most rock stars don't play their favorite guitars on stage they keep them lock up in their mansion. ;)

Someone should file a complaint to the SPCMB

Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Mac Books ;)

I bet that poor MacBook was crying as he brought the blow torch ever closer, as it realised that its only crime was to be purchased by someone who's decided that they really wanted its big brother all along. Makes you sad :'(

Heh.. I wish someone could teach me how to find info like that online.. I want to find out how some old classmates of mine are doing.. some of them have just disappeared off the face of the earth. Including some that maybe in Iraq.

Same difference. Nice stuff gets trashed by rich people while normal people can only watch in disgust.

I don't mind Apple giving me some Macbook Pros to smash up so they can gain some publicity.

*flings MBP onto ground*
*stomps all over it*
*picks it up*
*presses power button*

*Dong*

Macbook Pro <-- durable

That reminds me of when I saw Rainbow live in concert a long time ago. At the end of Ritchie Blackmore's big solo in Stargazer, he wandered off to the side of the stage where a Fender Strat was handed to him from behind the curtain. He quickly swopped the one he was playing for the new one and ran back onto the stage, where he smashed it to pieces. :(

are you sure he wasn't swopping a fender for a squire look a like?

Yes, plus they're from the same manufacturer. If they swap, it's for a reason, and my wild guess is: that's the reason ;)

Can you imagine Steve walking to the side of the stage during a presentation, swapping his MBP for a PC Laptop and smashing it, screaming "Rock'n'Roll baby yeaaaaah!!!! Yeaaaaahhhh! F*ck'em all!!!"

Off topic: anybody seen my orange pills?

That video is pretty awesome.

Why does he put the camera down when he's counting it off though? Why would anybody do that? That seems like it would take more effort than to just hold the camera at the screen.

Squier's are Fenders! If you buy a fender strat china or a squier strat china, they are exactly from the same factory but putten another name on. Fender decided to make this sub product for all the poor people among us ! So don't touch Fender nor Squier dude, they are cool it's not a look a like, it is a Fender

Because it's a MacBook with a built-in iSight; and the screen you see is an external. He also claims there are problems with the display, but of course, he can't show those.

I'm not 100% the reason why he closes the lid part way to demonstrate, though. The only things I can think of is that he's trying to show how loud the fan is going by putting the microphone close.

I hope he doesn't get away with it. If he would have just sold it and started over, he would've been fine. But to sabotage it and claim that it caught on fire, is just wrong. That can cause a lot of people to freak out.

Just put it on ebay and get a new one. I hope someone at Apple keeps up with these forums and gets the whole story.

uhh ok, chill man, I'm just saying he's probably got a high end fender that he plays regularly and switches it up for a low cost squire for the grand finally. I wasn't bashing anything, I was simply going on the fact that Squires cost less than their Fender counter parts.

I don't play strats anyways, why anyone would pay more than $300 for a bolt on neck I'll never know.

I'd say if he took this to Apple or sent it in for service, they'd have a field day :) They'd spot it as fraud the minute they opened the lid :p

What this kid is doing is totally different from what rock stars do. Rock stars didn't have to buy the guitar nobody brought it with cash it was handed to them for the single purpose of one show. So either way the guitar gets tossed away after the show. To fender it is really nothing, guitars are so cheap to make anyways. Usually they smash away new guitars anyways which are close to worthless but if someone smashed lets say a 1950s strat then that is a totally different story.

So? Even if nobody's actually paying for it, you still destroy perfectly fine equipment that many people can only dream of. Turn or twist is as you like, I think it sucks. I know that's how showbizz works, i "understand" it, but it doesn't mean I agree with it. Give away your guitar to a fan and you won't look less cool, if you ask me.
But 'nuf about this subject for me.
