No it's not. I may be a noob to this forum, but I'm not a noob to jailbreaking. I've Jailbroken every iPhone I've ever had, starting with my 2G and every model after that except the 4S (because I don't have one).
Anyone remember the infamous "square virus"? The one that texted you a square which crashed your phone and stole a bunch of info? It used the default root and mobile passwords to get that info. Just about every piece of malicious software ever targeted at iPhones relies on those passwords being "alpine". Changing them as has been said ad nauseum will make your device mo secure.
Also consider that jailbreeaking wouldn't exist at all if the stock iOS wasn't vulnerable to the exploits people like the Dev Team or geohot us to inject the jailbreak. Count yourselves lucky these developers aren't trying to steal your personal info, and are instead trying to protect it.
You also have jailbreak developers to thank for iOS features like Spotlight, landscape text messaging and email, MMS, oh, and the AppStore itself.
