You should be able to disable beta updates in the software update section of the settings app. You can turn them back on once you’re ready, but turning it off should remove the update from your device.
Unfortunately, on my iPhone 14Pro it does not remove the update. It happened when I was testing switching from Public to Dev (without a Dev account) beta profile. In the past, I was able to view the update in General/iPhone Storage and remove it from there. Not the case with 16.6 unfortunately. Thanks anyways CEO.

I'm thinking about downloading this update, along with the other developer betas. Any noticeable bugs besides the music app?

Battery life sucks now. I can watch it drain like 1 percent every 3 minutes. Exact same activities as before. Brand new iPhone 14 pro max.

I don't believe this. I'm having absolutely no issues, and I know of others on the 14 that are having a great experience. I have put it through its paces, and battery levels are far batter than 16.

It’s fairly buggy on my iPad Pro (M1). Not completely unstable but it’s definitely a beta.
Again, not having the same experience, in fact it feels snappier than 16. Other uses on other forums are also experiencing better performance.

in a first for the company, it is also giving non-developers the opportunity to download the beta on their iPhones for free

This is 100% false. While you no longer need to be a member of the Apple Developer Program that costs money, you need to be a registered Apple Developer in order to access the beta software. This beta software is meant for developers and testing purposes only. Recommending that non-developers install this software that could potentially cause OS issues or loss of data on personal devices is irresponsible and negligent. Not to mention if there is any issues, Apple does not have tech support for ANY beta software, whether it’s from the developer account or Apple Public Beta Software Program.

Interesting - I haven’t used it at length, but the new things I did try out caused glitches and crashes; specifically, attempting to enable crossfade in Settings crashed the app, and attempting to play around with the new Lock Screen wallpapers gave me some odd behavior where it would either crash out of the wallpaper editing or show different widgets in landscape vs. portrait mode (not sure if that one is a 'feature' or not)

Can't wait to see all the people doing it wrong.

P.S. grabs popcorn.

Hopefully we can help them if need be.

Why have a Dev and Public release?
Because past betas have had serious issues corrupting data or otherwise causing ill effects.

Joe Sixpack, who would gladly ignore all disclaimers and warnings that would come with any beta, would undoubtedly moan if any such thing would happen to them after installing a beta.

It’s to protect people against themselves…

It’s the same reason dishwasher pod packaging mentions you shouldn’t eat them, even if that should be blatantly obvious.

Been using this in my iPad mini 6 for almost two days. New Home Screen has crashed with widget placement, but everything else works fine. It is easy to forget you’re running a beta. Battery life after the initial indexing is superb. I’m actually feeling like it has improved, I’ve been playing around with the iPad a lot and the battery seems to be dropping slower than on iOS 16.

Despite having a registered developer account, I cannot get the update to appear in Settings. I’m on the beta for 16.6, but was using a different Apple ID for it (back when one’s Apple ID didn’t need to match the Apple ID one was signed in on on the device). I’ve unenrolled that secondary Apple ID from the public beta, but cannot make the DB show up. Has anyone experienced anything like this?

I've been downloading the beta for years and this is the first year I can't seem to get it to download. I have enabled developer mode and I see the update, but the Download and Install button is greyed out saying I need to be on wi-fi (which I am). I tried resetting my network settings, rebooting the iPhone and toggling off/on the automatic updates and beta/non beta.

Frustrating to say the least.

Silly question, but is your phone out of storage?

Nope! Good question though. I was able to get it installed, but I had to go on another wifi network (stopped by my work this morning). It's bizarre, because my home wifi is functioning just fine. All of my devices are running off of it.

That’s very odd indeed. I’ve had some issues with iCloud Private Relay and my router, to the point I’ve just turned it off. Took me forever to figure out that was the issue.

Glad you were able to get it resolved!

Still haven't found a definite answer what are the macOS requirements for iOS 17, we know what the iPhone hardware requirements are but what are the macOS software and hardware requirements?

Currently an iPhone 13 can connect to a computer running Mac High Sierra using iTunes to sync music and backup. Will this continue with iOS 17?

Followed all the instructions in this article.... got ios17, watchOs10, Sonoma etc. on my devices... didnt pay anything or was asked to authorize any payment for the developer program. BUT.... just received this email saying I need finish my registration process and complete my payment. ????

Ipad: Mail is strange. When tapping mail, sometimes opens concept. Sometimes, when opening with, the to and text isn’t right.
