iPhone 14 Pro Max How to live with the lower new “island” notch?

I browse on my phones a lot. On 14P, using Safari, there is additional dead space at top to accommodate "Dynamic Island" that is large and distracting and makes a good portion of screen real estate dead, unused space. Side by side with 13P, it's a significantly shorter viewing window, slightly taller screen or not. This apparently doesn't bother a lot of people but to me it's a step backwards and not what I was expecting with all the hype. Not worth the other features because it feels like a large step backwards toward large top bezels of 4-5 years ago. I'll stick with my 13P, this one's going back, and hopefully they'll somehow address/resolve issue by next year bc I really wanted that brighter screen. This doesn't feel like an overall improvement to me.

My prediction? People don’t like change. But all will soon embrace this new design. I give it 6 months. You will come around. They always do…..Muhahahahahahaha

The pill is horrendous. Didn't even notice the notch since it wasn't part of the screen.

The notch is like someone's head in the way when watching a movie. I'm supposed to be able to view content in that area of the screen but instead I see...

I haven't noticed the island in everyday use unless it's expanding or stretching for something.

Yes we are invested in apple products that is why we are on Mac forums. If I wasn’t invested in a phone then I would be on a sewing forum invested in a sewing machine.
