As far as I can't use my keyboard(Corsair k65 RGB) and mice(Logitech G502 and Razer Deathadder 2013), I give it one star.

I feel like the new features are so transparent to the average user (beyond Siri, which I don't care about) it would be unfair on El Capitan to give Sierra a five-star rating.

I've had no issues whatsoever in the five days I've bee running the GM, but I've also not really pick any obvious outward changes I feel make usability an improvement over El Capitan.

I'm fine with it, didn't notice any major changes updating from El Capitan. Four stars?

It works fine, but there are oversights like Siri not being able to control HomeKit, Messages not having much of the new iOS enhancements, and unnecessary security issues with Apps that are not recently signed.

New build on Dev portal as of today. 16A322 up from 16A320 and 16A319 was the 1st GM release.

We installed 10.12 GM on a "problem" iMac that has been a nightmare with 10.10 and 10.11. The darn thing has 32GB RAM and runs like a turtle after it is on for several hours. It is especially bad when Safari is pushed hard. After installing 10.12 out of a desperate attempt to see if we can revive it before retiring the unit, the machine is working REMARKABLY well. The system is working great, not hanging and halting like before and Safari is able to run with >20 tabs open without having terrible problems. Really impressed so far.

One star.

I'll happily increase the rating if someone can prove that silent loss of data is no longer a problem.

/me Yearns for ZFS support by Apple. I am impressed with https://openzfsonosx.org and have been using it now for a couple years. Working very well, but I still wish Apple would have brought it to us properly. ZFS boot is about ready and is working for some. Oh well.

I've been extremely impressed with this update. I've installed the GM on probably a dozen computers. No problems except that the Universal Clipboard doesn't work 100% of the time, and on about half of the computers when the installer reboots the computer to begin the installation, it goes back to the current OS. Had to start it again.

Performance is on par or slightly better than 10.11.6 in my limited experience. However, the post-install optimization can take a REALLY long time. One computer with a 50 GB Photos library ran the photos daemon for about 12 hours. But after it finished up it's been speedy.

I do wish that we had HomeKit support, iMessage apps, and Photos Faces sync, but knowing Apple's recent history we could very well see those small feature additions in 10.12.3. Or maybe 10.13.

I would sum up my experience so far with "meh".

Couple odd bugs here and there. For example holding command + spacebar for Siri will play an iTunes movie for me....randomly.

Faces don't sync which is making me not use it because I don't want to set them on every device I use.

Its a little bit laggy but I'll chalk that up to spotlight syncing.... Its currently listed under "Apps using Significant Energy".

Universal clipboard seems to be hit or miss.

I was excited for desktop iCloud drive usage but I'm not seeing a way to exclude a folder or isolate it to just documents. Maybe someone can help me with this? I'll use the desktop as my work space while editing a video so I'll have 30+ gb of files temporarily sitting on it which I don't want uploaded to iCloud.

I don't like how Safari 10 is using Flash. Unfortunately for me Flash Player is still a requirement since Crunchyroll, Hulu, HBO, etc etc etc still use it. In preferences I have it set to "ask" but it doesn't ask it just refuses to use it and tells me to update which means I either need to set it to "on" or go into preferences every time for each webpage and turn in on. Maybe someone can help me with that too?

PiP is ok although with the services I use I can only get it to work with youtube. Netflix is the only other HTML5 service I use and it doesn't work with that. Plus Flash Player has had PiP integrated in (to varying degrees) for eons.

I feel like I'm excitedly going through all the features Apple has added and just feelings "meh" and not finding them useful and/or integrated very well.

I'm being a little overly critical, there are some nice touches in the Photos app and such. But nothing I would consider requiring an entire OS update to implement.

I think it's interesting that Apple isn't allowing ratings for Sierra in the app store. :p

Hmm!

At https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/macos-sierra/id1127487414?mt=12 at the web page (not in App Store) I see Rated 4+ referring to https://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/appRatings?ratingSystem=appsApple but that brings App Store to front with nothing more than its toolbar.

I also see Rated 4+ at (for example) https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/onedrive/id823766827?mt=12 where "We have not received enough ratings to display an average for the current version of this application." and for all versions, 599 ratings, there are two stars.

Intersest. I can't bring up any ratings via Safari or the MAS. I never really go by MAS ratings, but I had noticed a trend with 10.9, 10.10, and 10.11. During the initial release they all had 4 or 4.5 stars. After 1 or 2 updates they all settled around 3 or 3.5. I only looked at Sierra to see if it was following that trend, but every timed I looked at it since release it looks like it does in my screenshots with no mention of ratings.

I always suspected Apple of release positive rating more quickly than negative ones for "review" reasons, but either they aren't allowing macOS reviews or the reviews for Sierra have been overwhelmingly negative - which may be the case based on your post.

I gave it one star as there are still too many bugs that Apple have known about since 10.10 and have failed to address yet. Along with I fail to see any real advantage to the newer update. the features they offer are MEH at best. I don't see any reason to upgrade for window dressing if it doesn't fix anything that is wrong and more than likely bring in new incompatibility bugs and nuances that I'd now have to deal with.

What does Sierra bring?

Siri - Do I really need a voice assistant to do these tasks for me? What security vulnerabilities does this introduce? are you streaming everything you say over to apple without knowing it?

iMessage - WOW big emoji. All world problems are now going to be solved. So it looks now like the that you have in IOS10.

Optimized Storage - Well it still has not shipped so who can tell if it will do anything

More intergration with your iPhone - Sorry I have an android phone and it works just fine for me. I don't see any reason to spend another $1000+ to get an iPhone 6+ that will fail with touch disease. Who knows if the 7 will have the same issue.

Raid is back - Gee thanks for giving us back something you took away for no reason in 10.11. Don't go calling it a new feature.

I just fail to see anything new that would make my day better? What I do have are the large bugs like:

Facetime messes up when multiple contacts with unique AppleID's share common address book items like home phone number, address etc. (works perfectly fine on IOS with the same entries)

Address book faces messes up randomly where you can define a person's face for the entry and then it zooms in and to one side when you click on the OK so you can't see the persons face.

Bluetooth issues with apple keyboard loosing connection randomly.

What is this, feels like we getting a new OSX every six months? and more than Windows, Apple force us to update in order to run the latest hardware. In contrast lots of stuff still run on XP no prob. Who has time dealing with these &^$* just let me use my tools. Sticking with Mavericks, resisting with all my might to this ugly, Jobs-wouldn't-approve FLAT (breeew) looks.

How else are they going to convince people that your mac should run like an iPad pro and have the same ARM processor but cost thousands more.

Flat and lack of contrast is the main reason I stay on Mavericks. Try cmd+tab, and you will see the multi task view in El Capitan has almost no edge or contrast to stand out from white background. Stupid design.
