Not bad, but i see something, put the iPhone 5S on the charge when i go to the bed and the morning when i unplugged it, the % dropped immediately to 99%...If i reboot the phone, i see 100% and it can stay for 3-4 hours...

I have the same issue. Just like yours, the % drops to 99, or even 98 sometimes, as soon as I unplug it from the charger. If I reboot the phone, then it goes back to 100%.

My usage is awful, this has been with about 50% screen brightness, very little music/web browsing

Your cell signal is probably a huge issue. I see 1 bar on your screenshot. Your iPhone will constantly search for a better signal, thus, killing your battery quicker. I've noticed a huge difference when in strong cell areas vs. an area I only have 1 or 2 bars.

Let it die completely and then let it recharge all the way to 100% without being unplugged.

sorry if this was listed somewhere else in the thread.

what do you mean when you say let it die completely ... do you mean just let it turn itself off or do you mean let it die so that nothing happens on the screen when you try to turn it on (ex you don't see the plug into power symbol)

This is what I'm getting right now, just about to plug it in before I go to bed, it'll be 2am U.K. time soon!

This.

My wife got 7.5 hours the first charge while she was at home with at least 2 bars of reception. Now she can hardly reach 6 hours tops bc the reception at work produces only 1 bar. Signal strength and your preference in usage between wifi or carrier data have a strong influence on your battery life.

Just bc you're not getting the norm of around 8 hr usage doesn't automatically determine that you have a faulty battery. There are too many variables that can affect the battery usage.

Yeah I'm curious where all these "super batteries" are coming from with over 10 hours of constant use. You guys using battery packs or something and forgetting to mention this? Most people are getting 7-9 hours of regular use. And that's on the high end.

Probably just not charging it to 100% I'm at 35% with 13 hours of use at 100% brightness but during those 13 hours I've charged it a few times to 80 or 90

It would say under usage that this phone has been charged in between a full charge or something like that

First Charge

Usage 10 Hours, 46 Minutes
Standby 1 Day, 7 Hours

6 Hours Tuneinradio Via Wifi.
1 Hour Safari Via 3g.
1 Hour phone call.
2 Hours netflix via Wifi.

Not bad here.

I did test yesterday with fully charged iphone5S with inside of largest Mophie battery case fully charged, turn on personal hotspot, connected my ipad4 and watched Netflix on ipad for one hour over hotspot. After I stopped, Mophie case was drained completely and iphone was with 30% battery left. I don't know if this test tells you something maybe just that it drains battery a lot while used as wifi/hotspot.

haven't used hotspot on the 5s, used it a lot on holiday when I had a 4 and got a local SIM card in Spain that had unlimited data. the 4 was giving me 10 full hours on wifi and 6 full hours using hotspot.

pretty good.

I find tune in radio on wifi destroys battery 15-20% per hour

Sure.

Nope I haven't transferred my music yet. I did however turn off background app refresh for apps that don't need to be updated like Yelp and Stocks (I don't use the stocks app ever.) Also, I turn down my brightness a lot. Dunno if these things helped or not.

lol your funny show the full picture am sure it was charged again and it says so on the phone so you cropped it lol

I just let it die till that little battery symbol pops up and then recharge it nonstop to 100%, but it's worth a shot letting it die completely so that the battery symbol doesn't pop up when you try to power it on, but that probably takes a couple of hours longer. I know that that's what you're supposed to do to calibrate the battery on a Mac, let it die till it shuts itself off and then leave it unplugged for another 6-12 hours so that it completely dies and then recharge it back to 100%. This may be different though since Mac's have a lower power state that shuts everything down and saves the current state of your Mac do the disk so that everything is as it was upon reboot and even in this low power state there is still a little bit of battery charge left, while iOS devices don't have this feature. Still worth a shot I guess.

One thing I noticed is battery % drops much quicker with iOS 7 with weak signal. I only get 1 bar at work. Before I got the 5s, I upgraded my 5 with iOS 7. First thing I noticed immediately was the battery doesn't last as long compared to iOS 6. Now that I have the 5s, it's the same way. When the signal is weak, the battery drains much quicker on both the 5 and 5s with iOS 7 than my 5 with iOS 6.

Nice crop. No way you only drained 16% with over 11 hour usage. (Especially on a 4/4S)

I've noticed the same thing with iOS 7 especially when moving back and forth between 4G and LTE. Being connected to wifi helps the most.

Poor LTE coverage (or even 3G coverage if it applies to you), will drain your battery fast. I have tested this extensively and it's my final conclusion.

If you seem to have battery issues, try staying at a place with good coverage for the entire day or turn on Wi-Fi. Your battery life will go back to normal.

Like to add this in here since ppl probably never saw the thread I made a couple days ago

So I kept seeing threads with Android users saying that iphone users don't really get 6-8hrs of usage time on their iphones, and that the usage on the iPhone doesn't necessarily mean the screen is on. Well I decided to charge my phone to 100% and leave the display on the whole time. I tried to do all the things I normally do but ended up doing more just to kill the battery faster. I was on Wifi most of the time since my job also has wifi. Well here's my results from my iphone 5s

This is about what I normally get

This is with the display on all day at 50% battery

This is with the diplay on all day at 1% battery

Things I did on phone:
talked for 30mins
texted
twitter
used Find my Friends
Played a couple of games
browsed the Net a lot
watched youtube videos (don't remember count)
watched a episode of Family Guy on Netflix
played music for about 10mins
checked weather
read email and sent email
opened apps and to read content

So my battery usage lasted about 4hrs more with the display on the whole time. I don't even know how that is even possible, and I did more stuff then normal. My display brightness is at 30% if anyone wants to know.

I think my battery is average.. That's with using Facebook, Candy Crush, texting and emails with little phone calls.

An update from my usage. Mostly email, texting, about an hour total of phone calls, browsing, social media apps, no games, wifi only as needed, BT off, brightness at 25%, location on...pretty normal stuff. nothing battery intensive.

I am amazed by this. Also, I did let my battery die and then charge completely full. Seems to have helped since my last battery test.

how can you do 7-9 hours of usage ??? Never be able to do more than 6hrs30.

Here's my settings :

Wifi ON
Bluetooth OFF
Notification ON only for Phones, Message, Calendar, Mail, Facebook, Twitter
Background App Refresh at OFF
Auto-Brightness at OFF and set to 30-40% standard
Location services ON for Camera, Facebook, Safari, Siri, Twitter
Find My iPhone ON
System services all OFF except Cell Network Search
Mail at Push

Unplugged the phone at morning, instantly drop to 99 or 98%.

What can i do to get better battery life ???
