Good morning all, finally my gold 5s 64GB arrived yesterday with about 78% battery life and I was impressed when after playing on it non stop for about 3 hours downloading apps, surfing, setting up it was still holding app 50%..so I have charged my phone fully over the night..when I unplugged charger this morning it went straight from 100 to 99%.. Pls see screen below about my current status..while writing I am now on 89% 5 minutes later..should I be worried or my phone just need proper first cycle calibration? Please advise, thank you

Now usage 1hr 17 min
Standby 2hr 36 min
82%

I feel like percentage is dropping as soon as i touch my 5s..and yes .. I switched off nearly everything..wifi, bluetooth, airdrop, locations, siri, i cloud etc.. Please advise guys, thank you

My battery still works great, it's not dropping down a percent after it's unplugged or anything like that. I had wifi turned on the whole time.

I don't know if it was just misreading the battery levels, but this happened today. (My 5s battery life was never good)

Same case as me. Ever since I charge it over night. It drops very fast from 100 to 99

That's not bad at all. Roughly calculating with 1hr 20min usage pr. 20% battery, that gives you more than 6 hours of actual usage on a full charge.

My battery life has been excellent. Upgrade from 4S to 5S. Only bluetooth turned off. Routine usage, internet, iMessages, email, message boards, calls, and took and emailed a few photos.

My 5s from last full charge says 4 hours of usage and 2 days of standby and it's at 23%. Is that bad?

Yeah right, no one gets 10+ hours of on screen usage on an iPhone. Dream on. You probably forgot to mention that you listened to music all day.

I don't turn much of anything off. I bought the phone to use everything it has. Why buy a iPhone if you are going to turn off all the crap it can do just so you don't have to plug it in?

I leave the screen at 100% all the time except when I am in bed in the dark.

Battery life has been stellar. I couldn't get through a 8 hour work day with my S3.

I charged my phone to 100 and my stats say 45 min of usage and 5 hours standby and at 92%. Is this bad?

I was on the train to work this morning just listening to music for the most part for about 45-50 mins. Only turned the screen on to change songs a couple of times. 100% the whole way through. Got off the train checked the battery at the door to my job. 98%. A solid hour and a half after I unplugged the 5S from the charger. That was at around 10am.

It's 6:30pm now and I've been using it throughout the day to message, check e-mail, mess around on the web...87%. My old phone would have been at 40% right now. The standby is crazy good on this phone.

the same here... no more than 4:30 hours of usage time. using the phone on road (3G) for browsing. have to return it?

I'd quite like to have an iPhone where I can have all the features working and it not run out of power so quickly. I would like to leave Bluetooth on, have all my apps update in the background, have all the alerts I want, use geo-fencing and have emails checked regularly etc. I'd like to get the most out of the phone without being concerned that I might run out of power. Instead we're switching things off to preserve power.

When Apple released the iPhone 5, I thought it was a waste to make the phone so slim when they could've used the extra space for more battery power. We were all used to the thickness of the 4/4S but I guess in making it taller, they wanted to make it thinner too.

I've tried. I can't get over 6 hrs:

auto brightness: on , mostly at 15-20% brightness

most notifications: off
location services: off
background app refresh: off

BUt, Im on it All day at work
:-/

I use wifi all day , sometimes I turn cell data off but I don't think it makes a difference. I have really good signal where I work
