I had charged my phone at noon and used wifi to stream cnn news through iheart radio for about an hour, couple of hours of browsing on amazon and music playing. Oh and I had it on " do not disturb mode" for about 6 hours. Plus my brightness has been anywhere from 25 to 50%. What do y'all think about my battery?

This looks awesome to me.

Been getting about a day worth of life off my 5S on a single charge. Yesterday I had 7.5hrs of usage and 16.5hrs standby. By the time I got home from work in the evening, it was down to about 70% as I only had a call and used the calculator. I have yet to finish refining my settings and trying to figure out which notifications to keep since I don't want to turn off everything.

I have DataMan Pro monitoring data usage without location, about 14 push notifications on, emails fetched hourly, 18 total items under location/system services.

How are you guys pulling 8+ hours out of the iPhone 5 and 5s?
WHen I had my 5 I could not pass 4 something hours.
The 5s is better, but still 5 hours...

Cheers!

Very good; I usually only use about 25% of my battery through my whole work day. I gave up even trying to calibrate it the other day as it takes too damn long to run the battery down.

I've had 8 hours + with a trick I found.

I found when I left the charger on all night and took it off in the morning, the battery seems worse that morning and not accurate... If I take it off the charger for the night at 99%... In the morning it's still at 99%. I'll plug it in in the morning until it sits at 100% for about 5-10 minutes and take it off. Every time I've done that my battery has been 8 hours + and have gotten at least an hour on 100% alone.

Do you guys think that with usage the battery will adjust to how I run my phone?!

Did anyone notice that the OP changed his figures when questionned and also has the term "analyst" in his username? How fitting.

How's your iPhone 5S battery life

I think I read somewhere these batteries don't have a "memory"... They don't remember your habits and it's all on what you're doing on your phone for that day. If you're getting 4 hours of usage, I'd say that's an issue. Apple advertises 8-10; I'd go to Apple for a replacement.

For those who have been facing only 5 hours battery life ;
I had the same problem I rectified with a few basic stuff
I only switched off background refresh and parallax on 30-40% brightness and auto brightness switched on.
3g on
Most importantly I KEPT MY PHONE IN MY POCKET.
Only used it to IM using BB or Whatsapp ,email , occasional gaming
Now I get at least 6 hours Usage and 17 hours standby with still 34% battery remaining.
Also SIGNAL strength plays a big role.
at work I get 2-3 bars and at home I get full reception. Battery drains at a higher rate at work and weekends I have lots of battery to spare.

Also I did 2 full cycles using the official charger.
. You are not one of the "few thousands" unless you lose excess charge while on standby (overnight).
Hope this helps .Have a great weekend.

Sorry for the bad english ,its not my first language.

I'm getting very good battery life from my 5S. I'm on 6 hours and a half of usage, 28 hours of standby and still rocking at 48%.
I use it pretty intensively too. I have BT off, turn wifi off when not needed, LTE as well; screen brightness at around 30%; no parallax effect; usually turn off most applications when done using them.

just wondering if its a battery issue as after long use still in 100% ..just worried it may drop like a stone on the percentage coz of inaccuratereading

What are you doing on the phone?

Hello.

Well, I was trying to order the new iPad, both on the Apple Store App and online at their regular online store. I also did some other web browsing and some messaging.

I do have the parallax effect on, and push email. Also, since I was using my phone in the car (I was not the one driving), signal did keep changing, sometimes from LTE to 4G.

Thanks!

I've noticed the same thing. Couldn't quite get why when I unplugged it fell to 99% right away. Now I unplug, take shower, plug it in for 10 minutes and smooth sailing. Really odd that it does that though.

Guys you can check if your battery holding charge to its maximum potential.

Download iBackupBot and when you plug in your device you click on "more information".

The part at the top that says battery gives results like:

CycleCount: 27
DesignCapacity: 1550
FullChargeCapacity: 1440
Status: Success
BatteryCurrentCapacity: 90
BatteryIsCharging: true
ExternalChargeCapable: true
ExternalConnected: true
FullyCharged: false
GasGaugeCapability: true

The most interesting part is the "FullChargeCapacity: 1440". Its self explanatory but its how much mAh your battery actually is charging to (not theoretical).

Just did it again today. Look at this - it's great.
