It’s painful to watch Apple lose touch and become a profit-obsessed monopoly just like the rest of Big Tech. What happened to the magic?
Anybody that thinks a for profit company is somehow a savior to the masses is highly delusional. Not sure where the narrative came from that companies such as Apple or Tesla are here to save the world come from. Companies, like politicians, will tell you what you want to hear then blur the lines down the road while still trying to maintain your support. How long they can sustain it for is a different story. It’s painful to watch Apple lose touch and become a profit-obsessed monopoly just like the rest of Big Tech. What happened to the magic?
@wonderings, at Cornell University they have an incredible piece of scientific equipment known as the tunneling electron microscope. Now, this microscope is so powerful that by firing electrons you can actually see images of the atom, the infinitesimally minute building blocks of our universe.I am assuming they have more data on users then anyone else, google and facebook.
Our wallets. What did they set out to destroy?
My wallet feels just fine. Our wallets.
Apple may be "profit-obsessed" like literally every other for-profit company in the world but that does not make it a monopoly. It’s painful to watch Apple lose touch and become a profit-obsessed monopoly just like the rest of Big Tech. What happened to the magic?
The Sony Vaio was a beautiful machine back in the day. They were the Macbook Air before the Macbook Air. And Sony too was a profit-maximizing company. It's still a $120 B company but not a monopoly -- although the Sony Walkman may have come close. As far as I'm concerned, Apple can do what they like with my info and data, as long as they are still providing sexy products at extortionate prices I'll buy them religiously.
Seriously though, Apple products are beautiful, I never nursed a semi when I opened my Sony Vaio windows laptop all those years ago that's for damn sure
when apple was not profit obsessed was going to bankruptcyIt’s painful to watch Apple lose touch and become a profit-obsessed monopoly just like the rest of Big Tech. What happened to the magic?

Also known as “aged out of the target demographic”.Nothing has changed, you're just waking up.
To be fair “What happened to the magic” is a high school statement, soooooooo, I’d say the replies match the OP.All you "any corporate entity..." and "wake up" replies smell of freshman year philosophy + Econ.
