So I was talking to my friends about the Ipad. They were like its just a big itouch (there not very tech savvy if you know what I mean). They made me feel stupid even thinking of buying it:(. I see potential. But is it worth it in my position?

1.I'm a freshman in high school.

2. The school gives us laptops to take home and use anytime.

3. My brother has an iphone.

Ask your friend if they see a girl with a nice a cup walks by and is cute, then her twin sister walks by who was blessed with natural large cs or even ds, and ask them if bigger can be better?

I have no idea what you mean when you call yourself a 'fresh man' at highschool. But onto the question. I would say wait a while particularly if you are still in school, I'd probably wait until year 11/12 or even university. The reason? Well, your school allows you to take home laptops! What a
luxery! Make the most of it. A laptop can do all the basic funcions you need
that would with an ipad.

An altenative is to get a Touch. Unless you're really into ebooks, there isn't much of an advantage to be had by purchasing the premium ipad. The Touch can do all the same things as a pad, web browsing, app and game using, podcast and music listening, and movies plus YouTube. The big advantage of a touch is price.

He probably meant, freshman, his first year of high school (just in case you didn't know what freshman meant).

I didn't really know what freshman meant either, we don't use that lingo over here.

But if it's your first year of highschool, you don't need an iPad or anything.
What you really need to spend your money on... is a professional who can denerdify you!

'cause you hit highschool as a nerdling and you're f**ked until graduation.

If they're not very tech savvy, then according to this forum, the ipad would be PERFECT for them.

And yes, it is just like a big itouch.

Ahh ok, yeh we don't speak tha lingo over here. I guess the equivilant for highschool would be juniors 'years 7-10' and seniors at year 11 and 12. Ofcourse I'm pretty old and finished highschool back in 05, it's sad how fast the years go now since school.

It's a matter of personal preference, not whether people like or hate it. If it's useful for you, buy it. If not, then make another choice. And if you ask your friends about buying decisions like this,.

Hey listen, let's be honest to the kid. He is a freshman in High School. If your parents will buy one for you with no consequences, why not get it? Hell, if my parents offered me one, I'd gladly take it. And I'm married lmfao!

But honestly, a regular laptop would be better for school work, especially with the inclusion of multitasking :). But like I said, if your getting free money, why not take it. (Unless of course they are in the poor house, and gonna put it on credit card, then think about it). If they are plunking down cold hard cash without batting an eye, grab one.

In my day, the playground argument was Lego versus Star Wars figures. I was on the Danes' side.

Nowadays you can get Star Wars Lego.

There is no such thing as a "iTouch", it called an iPod touch. Wow, at least get the name right if your going bash something!

If your a freshman concentrate on getting a car then getting laid.

Seriously.

I have used computers since I was 10, way back before Apple even existed.

From 17 to 21 or 22ish, I never even touched a computer outside of typing up a few papers.

Don't waste those prime getting years with using a computer.

Teenagers and young adults spend way more time on a computer now compared to when you were 17-22. Telling a teen not to waste time using a computer in the year 2010 is ridiculous, it's like telling them to stop using their cell phone. If you haven't noticed people today get on just fine spending time on a computer and doing other things. Using a computer won't waste away your teenage years if you also have other interests.

If your friends told you to jump of a building, would you do it? I think you should stop listening to what other people think. If Clown gear was in right now in your high school, doesn't mean you have to wear it?

If you believe it then thats all that matters.
