I don't get Verizon..I have 3G Signal Everywhere I Go. Am I the only one?

Can they not go with with a different direction in their ads? I mean wow...everywhere I go I have full 3G signal. School, work, home (including the basement) and all the other places I go.

Is it just me? Anybody else in the same situation that I am?
 
No. Just about everywhere I go I don't get 3G.

Curious, what direction should they go?

I don't know. How about showing off the Apps in the Android Store? Aren't they nearing something like 20 thousand? People should know that the Droid also has apps too:p
 
I get little service in parts of Chapel Hill and I get 1 bar in parts of Durham. I've run into way more places in NC. Verizon is better IMHO.
 
Better than AT&T. Crappy 3G service here in Charlotte, NC. At least in the UNCC area.

Gogo Verizon & iPhone. ):
 
I don't have 3G EVERYWHERE, but in most places. My service with AT&T is great, not sure why so many others bash it.

That's sad to hear :( I guess living in the city where AT&T's main center is in helps huh? :p
 
the only place i don't get 3G is between school in erie and driving home to pittsburgh. that drive is through some country area. so the real question is why am i on my phone while i drive.
 
Not every place in the US would be the same.
But if you live near a popular city or metro area of the US then you're good with 3G coverage.
If you're out in the middle of the woods/country then you'll most likelly get Edge only. But lets hope AT&T keeps expanding its coverage to reach more places and people.
 
You must not get out much. I don't get 3G coverage at school, at my parents house, at my friend's apartment, and I get 1-0 bars of 3G at work with full EDGE bars. To make matters more insulting, all of those places I don't get 3G I should according to AT&T's coverage map. I had an AT&T tech admit that not all towers were upgraded to 3G in towns that have 3G coverage, and that they don't do "streetlevel" coverage maps for 3G like they do for voice coverage. In other words, AT&T is over-reporting their already crappy 3G network as it is.
 
Several North Carolina replies here, so I'll chime in. I live in Raleigh, and as long as I'm just around town, all is well. Once I leave the city limits, however, it goes downhill in a hurry. My girl lives just north of town, two minutes off of Capital Blvd, which is a very heavily traveled, populated, and retailed highway here. Not only do I not have 3G at her place, but even EDGE is practically unusable.
 
There are only two places I don't have full 3g coverage. The bottom floor of the library at school, which blocks any and all signals from any carrier, and driving home through a canyon, that suffers for Verizon more than AT&T (at least comparing At&T now to Verizon 2 years ago.)

Other than that, I'm usually full bars 3G.
 
Realize Verizon is on an independent network, and it is only on there with Sprint (smaller user base) so they will tend to pick up more coverage in other areas, however there are places I get Full 3G with Full Bars and my wife's Verizon BB Curve 8830 gets nada, it all depends where you are.
 
It all depends on your area. The whole map thing is just a pissing contest. Not to get political, but it's kinda like when Bush won in 2000 and people had colored in districts based on who won, showing a very red map that said "This is Bush Country." Well, based on land, yeah. But people vote, not land.

I've had 3G coverage pretty much everywhere around Atlanta that I have gone. There are dead zones or EDGE zones every now and then, but I now live in kind of a rural area -- the nearest grocery store is five minutes away, and there's a cow pasture across from my subdivision. I've got at least 2 bars of 3G. AT&T has built their network along major roads and then branched out. It's been a pretty good one except for handling the onslaught of iPhone traffic.
 
A year plus after getting my iPhone 3G and AT&T still doesn't have 3G coverage near me. I'll most likely switch to verizon next year, they've had 3G in my area for a while now. Of course AT&T might start expanding their 3G. But I doubt it, and even if so verizon can now race ahead with 4G coverage while AT&T plays catch up

I live in a town of 1200 people, I get 5 bars of 3g at home. 15 min north (away from Houston) it is 5 bars Edge. Pretty much anywhere towards and in Houston it is 3g.

3 months ago, I got Edge at home, but then they upgraded the tower. So yes, ATT is upgrading/expanding their network.

I should point out that I live in a populated area, not "out in the middle of the woods/country." And yet the nearest 3G coverage is an hour away. Looking at AT&T's 3G map shows people a LOT furthur away than I am. I like my iPhone a lot, and my 2G service with AT&T is fine. But they missed the boat on 3G. Will be interestjng to see how they approach the 3G expansion and 4G implementation.
 
Up until recently it was edge when i was home and 3g when i was at work. And the edge service was horrible. But now its 3g everywhere and the service is great so i don't understand how people can bash AT&T either i mean honestly lets think about it. How much data do we all use? how many iphones are sold and in use on the network, I'm sure if this was Verizon we would experience the same problems. And if you're going to say crap like "well Verizon has better service" then you're only fooling yourself, in my area people who are on Verizon have okay service and 75% of the time don't get AT&T text messages or picture messages. Me and a friend tested it one day with his moms phone because she has the storm. text took 40 minutes the first time. Called Verizon, they told us to try it and it went right through. Hung up and did it again and it took an hour and a half.

ROFL 1 hour and a half to receive a text message on Verizon? That is insane!! What type of signal did that Storm have?

I will be staying with AT&T:D
 
I usually get 3G everywhere except for when I'm in my Microbio class. Something is better than nothing, which is more than I had with Verizon.
 
I have 3G everywhere I go. AT&T's 3G coverage of the St. Louis area extends far past the metro area, I'd probably have to drive for nearly an hour in any direction before I lost 3G.
