Great coverage in DC and ATL area so far. Springfield VA has a dead spot in my friends house, no ATT, VZW or TMo.

I have signal in most places I go… pretty much everywhere except my parents' place.
Yea, it could be their house...unless they just live in a poor coverage area.

My girlfriend's parents house is built like a fortress. I get one bar on edge the minute I step inside there. Their movie room as well as the area separating the first and second floors both have sound-proofing and I get no service in there. The rest of the house is just plain insulated like crazy and I get hit-and-miss service. But the minute I step outside or get near a window, I get 4-5 bars of 3G.

Is it their house specifically, or just their general location.

General location; their whole block is a dead zone… probably why most of the neighbors have Verizon. Move like across the street and it's full 3G.

Anyone in Utah? How's your service been?

I am considering switching back to AT&T on a GoPhone plan for my iPhone 3G.

i get great 3G service with my AT&T iphone. & i live in CALIFORNIA. i dont really travel around the country so im pretty much good here! :)

i live in hawaii (island of oahu to be specific) and i get 3G at home and work...and i don't usually check while i'm in transit to other destinations on the island....but for the most part service seems to be pretty good. i havent experienced dropped calls yet on my iphone (i just got it a month ago), but i'm sure i will....i would occasionally get dropped calls with my previous phone also with AT&T.

Most impressive.

Steelers stink, 3G Great!

I work in downtown Pittsburgh and live about 15 miles east. I ride a bus for about 45 minutes to and from work and never lose the 3G signal. In fact my bars only dip one or two bars even when in buildings.

And yes, the Steelers are stinking it up!

I always had 3G with my iphone 3GS but that didnt mean it always worked.

that was my biggest gripe with AT&T. the coverage seemed good, i always had full bars of 3G, but it wouldn't work half the time. calls would drop and i couldnt get a reliable data connection.

with my droid on verizon if it says i have 3G (or any service at all) it works.

This!

Where I live & work, full bars of 3G "coverage" doesn't mean squat. I still dropped calls and had little to no data service even with 4-5 bars of 3G signal.

With my VZW phone (a BlackBerry Storm 2), I get full-speed data and no call drops even if I've only got 1 bar of signal.

I agree it all depends on where you are and that VZW is far from perfect, but its way better than AT&T where I am, regardless of the fact my iPhone and AT&T's coverage map tell me I should have excellent service.
