I'll bet you can take the paperclip stand for the iPhone and scale it up using a metal coat hanger.

Wrap some black gaffer tape around it (or go all the way and use that tool dip stuff)


I'm sure that most picture, easel and dish plate stands will work nicely

Most of the book/plate stands won't work for iPad when the USB connector is plugged in. So I designed one using Maple wood & slip resistant pads. Here's the link for details. It is very sturdy & doesn't move on multiple touches to iPad.
