The numbers 8.1.2 excite me like no other, lol.

Mine came with 8.1.3 and so it has been on 8.4 betas ever since. My policy is bleeding edge or jailbreak, no stock "stable" versions for me (unless there is no beta available).

I assume we'll see an 8.4 jailbreak in the summer after Apple release their streaming service. At least there are private jailbreaks for 8.4 already.

Folder enhancer. - Can you put folders in folders?

Yes you can. Screenshot from my 5S on iOS 8.3

It's pretty easy. Did a few months ago a video on my IP6

Got it to work.

Still I'd rather it be an actual functioning tweak rather than a glitch Apple could patch whenever they feel like.

So I'll stick with folder enhancer.

I hate that we have to hack the device to get full control and apple goes out of their way to be sure that doesn't happen. It was enough to tempt me to move to android, which I have for my phone.

If you buy an android phone with an unlockable bootloader, you will always have root after every update and can buy on launch day, don't have to tip toe around not effing up your install and needing a restore. Basically you lose most of the caveats with jailbreaking.

I still missed jailbroken iOS, so got an iPad air, which I probably use most out of any computing device. Theres something about jailbroken iOS giving the best of both worlds. The content consumption experience on iPad with no ads is incredible. I just can't live without the powerful utilities.

jail-breaking is ok no any harm to phone unless u don't go mad installing 1000 apps ..
Mine cydia apps are
1.AdBlocker (no annoying ads banners)
2.AirBlue (bluetooth transfers works with android or PC)
3.Battery Life (great app checking your battery state)
4.Bloard (nice grey keyboard)
5.BlurryBadges (badges are not annoyingly in RED color only but same color as app icon)
6.BootSound (great sound when iphone boots like on android)
7.CameraTweak 2 (amazing app I can record video in 60fps nice smooth videos images in 2448p quality)
8.CCControls ( I can control 12 toggle buttons in front of me at once no need swipe)
9.NoAppStoreRedirect (Won't let itself to go to store auto)
10.Springtomize 3 (you can tweak here everything carrier name time , battery, folders ,animations, dock ,icons,)
11.VintageKeys (bring back nice iOS 5/6 keyboard skin)
12. Winterboard (just changes all themes all colors all sounds I have old charging sound and old signal bars.
13.Youtube essentials ( just all ads gone , all adverts gone ,

So many good posts in here on the "why" of JB.

My favorites these days are:

1. Status Time (why Apple doesn't allow tweaking of menu bar in general is beyond me)
2. Springtomize for lots of little changes and preferences
3. All forms of Ad Blocking (browsers, YouTube, in Apps (like ESPN), etc)
4. Flex Tweaks: Again, so many apps have annoying junk they do (or don't do) and it's just delightful to be able to change some of that.

I hate being a jailbreaker. I can never get iPhones on launch day, update iOS, use my Apple Warranty for parts replacement, nor can I restore my phone whenever something is wrong. When the next iOS is released, I can't use it until on my phone until a jailbreak is released in December.

I'm constantly tempted to switch over to android for the OS freedom but stick to the jailbroken phone I use. My tweaks have to be just right when I switch phones, and I get sad when a tweak isn't updated anymore (ex: biteSMS).

But I wouldn't have it any other way.

Who's with me?

edit: Mods, I meant to post this in the Jailbreak sub-forum....please move if appropriate.

Such a tough life you live, hehe. It's not that you can't, it's that you don't want to. It's like when you buy a new car that just comes out, and you can't buy custom floor mats. Not having the custom floor mats being made yet because it's a new car doesn't make you unable to buy the car, simply unwilling. ;-)

It's interesting to see the different tweaks people use these days. What a different list than 2-3 years ago. Since iOS 7 when Apple started incorporating all of these into iOS, it seems the list has become a lot more boutique with he tweaks people use.

I think on the whole if you were to look at the tweaks I have now, the tweaks I had in iOS 7 and the tweaks I had in iOS 6 you'd see consistency.

Jailbreak to jailbreak I tend to want the same things. The only thing changing in my case is the name of the tweak and the fact that it sometimes does a little more or a little less and how it accomplishes that. Ex., Anchor now, instead of Gridlock.

My point being, that even though Apple has as you say "started incorporating all of these into iOS," Apple has either done an insufficient job or done it in a way I don't care for.

And there is still plenty of stuff Apple won't let you do. My lockscreen and my homescreens are evidence of that.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying there's no reason to jailbreak, I'm simply saying the tweaks people are using today are far more unique and less common than those being used several years ago. We almost all had BiteSMS\Messages+, we almost all had some sort of personal hotspot tweak, and we almost all had notification center tweaks. Now that Apple has incorporated those, many are finding their list of tweaks to be smaller and smaller. Personally on iOS 6 I had 60+ tweaks, now I have 18.

I agree with you on both points.

WoW thank you for reminding me of the BlurryBadges Tweak.

I agree Makes Badges much more easier on the eye.

Guys
WoW thank you for reminding me of the BlurryBadges Tweak.

You welcome but if u need very good guide of useful cydia apps here are great vids and hundreds tweaks to choose..
They are separated in to two groups free ones and paid+free ones .. and then some 50 ones
Depend of your iphone version and depend of your iOS version you can choose many tweaks
PS: if you running iOS lower than 8.0 cydia wont let you install apps designed for iOS 8.x so that's great
PS2:guy goes quite fast through them, so sometimes needs pausing video ;)

You can do this with stock, if you have a certificate + provisioning profile OR the source code. Regarding the latter, you just need to have Xcode 7 beta and then compile it and it will install on your device.
