*walks away disappointed*

another question: let's say I'm working on a really big document/project/etc and I did a lot of changes but didn't really need those changes. won't I have the option to turn off the "Versions" feature, and go back to using the normal "save" option? and, won't "versions" use a lot of disk space?

You can lock douments which stops the autosaving. Versions saves incrementally, like Time Machine, so it shouldn't use much more space.

Macstories has a good writeup of how it works: http://www.macstories.net/stories/os-x-lion-walkthrough-versions-and-auto-save/

What about iChat and Jabber (XMPP)?
What about iChat Server (= Jabber server)?

Are there improvements? What about Jingle?

-In Safari, command-clicking a link opens a new tab next to the current one rather than at the end (no option to change it though).

Nice touch. Thanks for mentioning it. How about when you close tabs? Does it remember which tab you were previously active in? Like Firefox basically.

I've installed it here but I don't remember how much GB was required to install it. Do you remember the number required during the install process?...

You know in Windows when you have CAPS LOCK turned on, and you're writing in capital letters, if you press shift, that one letter will be in lower case... in Mac that doesn't happen, it just keeps on writing in upper case.

Can you please check if they did something about it?
No. Also that's a retarded feature. Along with the caps-lock key in the first place.

Well it does make sense if Caps Lock is turned on, because then you'd expect pressing Shift would reverse the behavior, or create a lowercase letter. It's actually something I do wish Mac OS X would do.

But I agree with you about Caps Lock, pretty dumb key in the first place. On the very rare occasion I need something in all caps, I just hold down the Shift key anyway.

Mac OS lets you disable it or use it as a different modifier key in system prefs.

Lion is reportedly Java-free. That would be a disaster for me.

Could you please check if you can run ImageJ:

Thanks.

Apple and Oracle are collaborating on OpenJDK project to create a successor to Java SE 6. They will be combining most of the key components, tools, and technology for a Java SE 7 implementation on Mac OS X.

Even though I have 10.7... I find myself back with 10.6 enjoying it before all the software (updated) doesn't work on 10.6 anymore!!

I sent Apple a message about this... but on my 10.7 that I got from the App store... up=down and if you set it so up=up... right=left!!!

Anyone figured out to get up=up, down=down, left=left and right=right? It would be very helpful :D thanks :D

I know on iPad that moving up the screen shows you the bottom of the page.. but I am not on my iPad when I am at my Mac!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just a quick Q: How can we get back the status bar in Finder? The one that says for example "iDisk is out of sync" at the bottom of the window.

Thanks in advance,
Kris

It's all under View options, which has had Finder viewing preferences since 1984.

OK, I looked at the links.

They aren't very convincing---the project seems underwhelming.

My question is very simple: Will Lion at launch be able to run ImageJ?
