i would really like to be able to take a song from itunes and choose what part of it you want for a ringtone that would make me really happy

1)Pages and keynote for the iPhone!
2)Remote desktop so you can connect to you mac or PC (would have to squint though)
3)iChat
4)Projector on the back so you can watch movies on the big screen!

No. Haven't you heard you're not supposed to touch the lens of a camera? This is without a doubt the most rediculous claim I've heard about the iPhone.

Yeah... I never touch the camera lens/protective clear covering of my Samsung D600, and it never get's put in a pocket full of assorted other crap whilst retaining the ability to take perfectly good looking photos.. what an absolutely ridiculus theory!.... ;)

Two surprises that I think would be reasonable:

1. Increased memory (8g/16g)

This would be like a repeat of the MBP Intel transition with clock speeds. Sure would get my attention.

2. Microsoft Exchange/Blackberry-like corporate email push

There have been so many that have panned iPhone as a not-for-business device - now why would Steve et. al. leave this stone unturned? And why has the Mactopia site been so dang quiet lately - I'm still running Office 2004, and its at least the year 2007 now. Maybe a little collaboration there? After all, we get this demo video a few days ago, and suddenly there's Excel and Word support for email.

Just a thought...

At this point I don't want secrets, I want "knowns" like:

- Categories in Addressbook?
- What data syncs with Addressbook? (birthday, anniversary, home/work, notes)
- Notes? What are they? Where do they sync? Are they at least as good as Palm/Treo?
- Multiple accounts in Mail? How many? All viewed as one?

So many questions.

BZ

While you and I probably have different theories about what constitutes a perfectly good looking photo... it still is a bit weird to think that someone would make a camera lens that is meant to be touched all the time.

I wonder if notes for iPhone will be like the stickies widget???

this is a boring guess...

but in order for apple to really tap into the smart phone market, they are going to need make email compatible for enterprise.

i'm not familiar with those protocols. but my pal was telling me how he didn't think iphone would work with exchange servers and lotus notes.

idk what kind of truth to this there is, but i do know that if it is true, apple will really want to include compatibility that way.

if i'm wrong let me know! hah at least i'm one post closer to getting an avatar.

Pick 2 of the following:
Final Cut Studio
Aperture
GPS
Built-in heater for the winter
5.1 Surround-Sound
80GB Flash

im betting on FCS... but i also heard it has fold out wheels and turns into a skateboard.. makes me wonder about the stability of that glass screen

You guys have it all wrong. Thats not a camera in the home button. Its a LASER. Thats right a laser. Its Apple's real security feature. Not some stupid battery won't charge feature. You see a user will set a code and if the person doesn't enter it within 30 seconds it shoots the person in the face and takes their head off. Its an intelligent laser too so it knows what angle you are holding the phone at and adusts the beam accordingly. If the beam is not at the correct angle the phone will just explode and take the person's hand off instead.

yes, it's absolutely sickening.

lol... what is this... high school? where the seniors are all "cooler" than the freshman...

you know, you were a newbee at one time too

you should be happy the mac is getting more attention

I'd like to see the following

- ability to share your EDGE internet connection with a MacBook when you are somewhere with no wifi access, either over wifi or bluetooth. OS X supports this sort of thing, so hopefully it's there.

- ability to turn a clip of any song in your iTunes library into a ring tone - I suspect this is there and that the reason selecting a song isn't shown in the list in the iPhone video is because you set this up in iTunes and not directly on the iPhone.

- compatibility with GPS, especially including GPS support in google maps. The lack of this built in is the most surprising missing feature of the iPhone. Why do you have to tell the phone where it is when you easily could be lost and not know yourself.

- the built in camera is 1920x1080 (approx 2.0 megapixels) and can record 1080p video directly to H.264. That certainly would make for a killer reason why the resolution is smaller than other cell phone cameras.

I hope it can be used as a BT modem for notebooks:rolleyes: BUT i could deal with a laser.

With regards to the newies thing... i have been observing these forums forever- just never felt compelled to register before now :)
