I definitely wouldn't mind trying this thing out. I'll be going on a trip to the west coast of the United States in a few weeks. I am willing to put this thing through some daily wear and tear tests while traveling. :)

As promised, I put together a video today showing the Remora in action. Enjoy!

Check it out!

newskin the scene at :50sec is for you! Anything active where you want to lighten your load is where the Remora shines. Many of our beta testers take theirs cycling, hiking, etc.

newskin: I'm going to try to record a short video today that shows me using cards so you get an idea of how secure they are. It's really much more robust as far as latching goes than looks at first glance - which is kind of the nice hidden feature.

Just saw the 2nd video u posted, I'll b ordering a black one, thx again.

Love the video. Can't wait to get my tester. I'll make a little review after a few days of biking and roofing and finding out if it will blend:)p)...

If you have any extra left I'd love to try it out, if its good my sister will by one as well! PM me!

Edit: Awh darn, just saw the post about no more left! Oh well, looking forward to some reviews!

If you'll be in the SF Bay Area, let me know! I can deliver your order by hand. That way you can save the shipping cost and put it towards a nice beer. Beer > Freight. :p

I'm not sure I'll ever be able to go back to carrying a traditional wallet in my pocket. :apple:
You carry a wallet for 2 cards and a bill? :)

I tried the book book case. Two small to fit all my things.
My wallet looks like this:

Hey, thanks again. Definitely will keep my cards n bills safe. Awesome design.

I got fed up with trying to find a wallet case for the iPhone 5 that wasn't hugemongous and would hold a couple of cards safely. So, as a curious engineer, naturally I decided to investigate making my own! One thing led to another and, after a ton of great feedback (and nearly a year), I actually ended up molding a bunch.

I wanted to post a note here to share the concept! There are a few pictures and a video here: http://getremora.com/. Not everyone rocks their iPhone bare, but there are a lot of us who do. I can get by almost every day now with just my ID and CC (and a $20 bill stashed in-between).

Believe it or not the whole design, development, and manufacturing has just been run by myself and a good friend. And we only made a few hundred of each color to start. Anyone dig the style? I'd be happy to send off a couple free ones (probably 2-3, in any color) if any forum members are interested in testing it out! More feedback the better. :D

Here's a shot I just took a few minutes ago (and cropped out the background) of my white iPhone 5 with our blue Remora.

Really like the look of that. If there's still room I'd love to try one out!

I would as well. I have a drawer full of iphone wallets that I tried out and didn't quite work out for me.

Unfortunately, I already sent off way more samples than I had originally intended! (Hey, I've gotta eat too.) But I'm psyched at the interest and even more excited to hear from the folks who are getting a chance to take 'em for a test drive.

In the meantime, let me know what it would take to get a Remora in your hand. More details? A deed to some land on Mars? A photo of me giving you a thumbs up while holding a thank you sign? ;) I have plenty on-hand if you're intrigued enough to give it a shot!

Haha! In my pre-Remora life, I think the only other wallet item I actually used was my bank debit card. But, since the advent of check-deposit-via-iPhone-photo, I rarely ever need it these days.

Is it possible you can fit more then 2 cards?

Physically, you can put in three cards. As long as only one of the cards has embossed digits. This may be an option for rare events. That said, the polished and fun user experience definitely takes a hit. The force required to insert/remove goes way up and the cards don't glide or snap into place as smoothly. There may be other undesirable effects too (fatiguing of the material, etc.). It's really designed to work perfectly with two - one with embossed digits and one without.

Folks have asked us to make a three-card version, and it's definitely something we could do. To start, though, we just need to spread the word enough on this initial launch.

A 3 card version would be perfect for those of us that live in apartments.

I'm ready to buy a 4S version as soon as th reviews start rolling in.

I would love to test this case out! This design is slim, elegant and outright sexy.

Two honest questions. Not being a smart aleck. :)
  1. How many people carry only their iPhone and 2 cards everyday?
  2. Do you also carry a separate wallet with your cash in it?

I think this wallet case looks neat and is innovative, and I do not have a wallet like George Costanza, :D, but there's no way I could just carry my iPhone, my license and 1 credit card day in and day out.

Ben, such a great idea. I wish you much success. Did you do the manufacturing here in the US?

The actual injection molding tool was produced in China - in general it's nearly impossible to make a business case for stateside tooling, as much as we'd love to save on the enormous shipping and import/customs costs.

All of the design, engineering, testing, manufacturing of prototypes, etc. was done here, though.

I think the answer is that a lot of people want to. But, when you're carrying a traditional wallet with a lot of capacity, you'll often fill it up just because you can.

For me, I rarely use cash. Maybe to pay toll on the Golden Gate... but even that has recently gone digital. But, if I do need some, I sandwhich a $20 bill between my ID and CC.

So I received my remora today and so far it delivers as advertised. However, for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to remove it. I watched the video, but mine simply does not want to come off. Any suggestions?
