That thing is badd A.

I like it but have one question. Could the phone/ipod be damaged? Is the connection strong enough to hold it up on it's own? The docks I have seen all have the phone/ipod sit in a little dip.

I would think that as long as he attached the iPhone cable securely to the piping, it'll hold the iPhone up well enough.

I dock my iPhone on a Logitech PureFi Anytime. I couldn't use any of the fitted adaptors for the iPhone/iPod that it came with because I leave my iPhone in it's case. Essentially, my iPhone sits right on the connection and makes no other contact with the dock. It sits solidly enough.

Well I tell you had had my questions to when I was building.... but here is what I did...

I put a small rubber bumper behind it and it holds it up pretty well.

Ah....I see it now in the pictures now that you mention it. So functional I didn't even see it.

Do you plan to do another one? Maybe out of different materials or different design?

I like using the PVC cause the cost is cheap and i do have another design in mind using PVC and plexiglass

Great concept and initiation, it looks awesome. I would go ahead and finish it off with some bondo work, smooth it out and paint it so that it looks like a solid one piece structure and close the gaps around the USB port. That would be awesome.

Nice! The aesthetics are a little rough, but can be completely ironed out when you finish it, painting mostly. Otherwise 10/10

I cannot agree more. To be honest I think he should patent this design and sell it to the makers of M-Stand and similar stands. Cable management is one thing, yet cable routing and hiding is pristine!!

Great job OP, simply great. I await your second design towards perfection. :apple:

This is awesome! I like how you integrated a dock connecter and USB port in the front. Very nice usage of the end of the pipe. :)

Have you considered putting a fan near where the bottom of the computer goes? That seems like a logical addition.

Thanks

But I haven't thought about fans. In this particular setup I think it would be more of a hassle.
