Hi there!

I started this thread so I could get the feedback from the macrumors community about their iPad purchase. I know that at first, when you have a new gadget, you usually use it a lot at first but after a few days, you start using it a little less.

What about you? Are you using your ipad as much as you thought you would? Do you consider it an impulse buy? Are you satisfied with your purchase?

Thanks!

Harpy

It's nice and i like it but it has lost it's wow factor
If money was tight i would return it because it isn't necessary considering i have a MacBook and an iPhone

It will not replace my desktop. I like to download, and this aint the device for that. Its a keeper tho. Just waiting to see this sucker FREE like SHYNE.

Everyone who uses it loves it, until I tell them the price. I think its about $100-200 too expensive, at every level.

I am a little dissapointed in that I thought I could use it a little more for work but it's not as easy as I though...which isn't really the iPad's fault but it doesn't work quite right with Goog Docs spreadsheets.

It ado has some quirks that annoy me, like no photo delete in the Photos app..

Aside from that though, I really do like it for surfing the web and watching movies which is really all I have been using it for.

I use it every day and often. Today the plant engineer at work was off so I had some free time. A couple of friends of mine and I sat in my office, tapped into the factory wifi and watch the 100th episode of supper nanny (ABC app). :)

I don't forsee my iPad and I lossing and connection any time soon. Can't wait for my 3G pad.

Love it. Wanted a Macbook Air, but for my needs (basic computer) I could not justify the cost. Was so happy to hear this announced in January. The iPad fits the bill. Small, lite and with enough power to do the things I need to do.

like it but like some of the above comments, I use my uMBP and Iphone alot less. so i am gonna take it back, i guess i am gonna have to eat 10%.....

it's quite funny reading the above comments, judging by the bizarre language a lot of them were tapped out in a hurry on ipads!

SO JEALOUS! COME ON STEVE - SHOW EUROPE SOME LOVE!

It wasn't an impulse buy since I had reserved it at a local store. I was amazed by it immediately last Saturday and still am a week later. I think the wow factor might be fading slightly but that's inevitable; however that's being replaced by the feeling of can't live without it at this point (or maybe can't remember living without it).

I barely touch my iMac or my windows desktop now unless it's for something like movie downloads or managing my music library, etc.. And now I don't even think I've turned on my MacBook pro or my windows laptop in the last week either. And my archos 5 android tablet has been kinda pushed off to the side also. I still use my iPhone since it's my phone on the go. Oh, and my poor kindle dx is getting neglected also. So this is basically my Internet pipeline/bookreader now and I'm loving it. If only I could run second life on it.

Can you turn this into a poll?

Anyway, the iPad has become the device I use most. I use it at home all time, but I've been taking it to work to use on breaks. Can't wait for the 3G version so I can give the wife the WIFI version and use the 3G whether I go. LOL.

Returning it as soon as my iMac comes and buying a 13" mbp when they refresh.

It's a great device but for my needs, I rather use that $500 towards a laptop, that's all.

If it was at a slightly lower price point, I'd consider keeping it but I think $500 is too high for MY PERSONAL needs. I don't need it for video, I don't have photos to put on it really, I don't want to store music because I have my ipod for that and the only real use was Safari and a few apps that my phone already has.

Yes there was an impulse aspect to my purchase. I'm so excited about this new form factor. Mine might have to go back for the 3G version but I have another week to decide that.

I love it!!!! But I'm really gonna love it more when there are more apps out for it!!!! Like facebook..... Fandango...... Apples remote and iDisk.....
