iPhone 14 Pro Max I played the Max 14 in Apple Store and here is my review

Using the term "much lower" is very misleading/incorrect. In the first part yes it is lower but not by much like you said we are literally talking millimeters, but technically your second part is wrong because the new pill is smaller so how is the effective area smaller than the notch? if something is overall 30% smaller how is the effective area also smaller?

Camera noise well you didn't put any kind of settings or tests you did... is this is proRAW and how were you doing side-by-side comparisons?

Price? depends on the market you are in because for U.S. it is the same as last years model, but you also did not state the market you are in.

It is that much lower

The notch is lower then the rectangle under it is smaller, not hard to understand

The Island is now functional. So it's fine for it to be more noticeable. And the extra pixels above it still gives a feeling of a much larger display.

Pill notch with the area above it waste too much space, of course you can like anything you want, I would not prefer buying a new expensive Max phone then all older version having bigger practical screen area than mine.

I’ve also noticed that on quite a few websites the Dynamic Island means less of the page is displayed. Not a lot less, but if you put the 13 and 14 next to each other, showing the same page, the difference is clear. Not what I’d consider an upgrade.

Can't be more than a line of text, at most. Is that really worth the angst, considering we probably already have our thumb on the screen to scroll?

It’s 2mm at most, it’s a moot point as we have to scroll web pages anyway, if this stuff keeps him awake at night he has issues.

thats your review or something gathered on internet? feels short and basic, if you dont have the money dont buy it, dont try to find something that you may not like
For me Always on display takes 3-4% after 8 hours...so is far from "die much faster" Battery is much more expensive...again you show us that you are price sensitive.

still better than the notch...you cannot compare the notch that we had it for 5 years with something brand new thats also free some lost pixels from the notch and apps will adopt this soon. A lot of apps also worked wrong with the notch on iPhone X but after 1-2 years everything adapted. Here we have more space and more info, lets say PiP in some apps. I can control my music from other apps without even swapping between apps.

It’s either a notch or a pill but a pill notch doesn’t exist.

Well other than iPhone, only Samsung stuff and Pixel can provide the high class camera experience with AI. Pixel is king of bugs, the bug could even call police for you while the phone does not allow you to talk with police so police come to your door (reported by people in Reddit). Samsung build quality is the worst I know, all Samsung products I owned broke in around 2 to 3 years in horrible way like the computer monitor stand broke then the whole screen fall on the keyboard or door lock stop working. I google all and all are common for other users, so it is Samsung management culture then use the worst possible build way and quality to earn every single dollar out of customers.

So yeah Apple is like the only choice if you want a quality phone no matter OS, software or hardware. But Apple charges so much so we should have very high requirements.

I actually use iPhone too.

They actually don’t charge too much because they have price points for new phones all over the place. For example you can get a brand new iPhone 13 from Apple for $699. Or you could get the iPhone 12 for $599. Or you can shop Apple refurbished or you could go to eBay or craigslist or swappa. Just because you can’t afford the highest tiered iPhone with the largest storage doesn’t mean that iPhones are expensive. Heck there are people that still use iPhone XR and are satisfied.

SE screen is really too small. iPhone 12 with 64gb only in an android flagship price range.

I can't speak for the misc Samsung products, but Samsung phones and TVs have been rock solid for me. But, I'll be straying away from Samsung TVs due to the software. Sony Bravia TVs with Google TV OS is better IMO. The display color is better as well.

Also have a G9 Neo monitor for about a year now, that I have no issues with. I love this monitor. I'm thinking about getting the Ark monitor, but I want to see real life reviews on that first.
