Yep have no compatibility issues with any of my gear. But third party drivers for macs (when compared with windows, as you did in the op) are always less supported. It’s always been the case. Coupled with a total change of architecture, I’m not sure it’s entirely apples fault.
I'll let you know on Saturday when I'll downgrade.

It is an Apple issue.
Read this. I bought several USB Hubs and none of them work either. What stuff are you talking about?
If the issue with hubs not working, it's not an Apple problem. It's a matter of the peripheral maker not updating the drivers, and the user installing the macOS update before all peripherals/drivers have been updated. You outran your headlines and now you're "disappointed in Apple".

No, because the other Docking station didn't work either (the one I tried at the office) nor do the USB Hubs.

Two members in this thread have now confirmed this dock is working with their machines running macOS 12:

Maybe it's worth a shot?

I have been through 3-4 Mac docks and none work as expected (some not at all, some won't wake from sleep, some make external monitors blink, etc.). They were all in the $250-300 range, hardly cheap. I had big time USB-C to monitor issues until I updated to 12.1 a day or two ago - have you updated to this?

Except they are trying to use 3 external displays via DisplayLink software. The Thunderbolt hub isn’t a DisplayLink adapter.

My CalDigit SOHO USB-C dock works fine. It would be helpful if you listed the docks that don’t work.

I also have the MacBook Air M1. I've been using this for quite some time now: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/hyper-...book-pro-and-air-gray/6402923.p?skuId=6402923

I even have a j5create 7-port USB 3.0 hub hooked up to one of the USB 3.0 ports. Everything connected is a 4 hard drive storage bay, as well as a 27" 144 Hz LG display, and a USB-C to 1 GB Ethernet adapter, and all have been working perfectly. And the HDMI display is also connected to an HDMI switch that I toggle between my monitor and a PlayStation. I also have a USB cardioid mic and a 2.1 speaker audio system, and a console controller that I use with OpenEmu. All of this is connected and I have zero connectivity issues.

So ... maybe your docking station just sucks. None of this requires any drivers either. Time to find something else.

I am using 3 displays. All of the 3 external displays work on other computers + USB devices, but the thing is my GreenCell USB Hubs aren't working either on my M1 MacBook Air.
Buy better hubs. We had 2 designers kill their macs by using green cell products. Fortunatley Apple replaced the macs as we didn’t tell them it was the hubs that fried the USB ports. It was the dock that connects to both USB C ports. We told the designers that the low price was a dead giveaway that these were trash.

Just my two cents from a quick Google search but it seems like this is a known issue with “green cell” whoever they are. From their webpage “
  • The adapter works with any laptop equipped with USB-C, including: Apple MacBook 12 / Pro 13 / Pro 15 (for M-series processors, macOS Big Sur 11.2.2 to 11.6.1 version required), Dell XPS , Surface, Asus ZenBook “
For this device: https://greencell.global/en/hub-usb...pro-dell-xps-lenovo-x1-carbon-and-others.html

OP, I didn’t see a link to which docking station you got, but confirming that might help us help you? It also appears they’re a Euro brand, or their website defaults to euros at least.

FWIW I upgraded from a ‘13 MBP to this M1 and I couldn’t be happier. Sadly I don’t have many usb c peripherals but so far I haven’t needed to plug anything in that I don’t have a cord for. I ordered on indiegogo a usb c hub that looked nice from a company that has a track Record I know (totally blanking on the name right now and I’m phone posting so I don’t have it handy). Due to arrive in February and their other devices I’ve seen had M1 support. I shopped around on Amazon before seeing an ad for the campaign on Instagram and going with them. Sadly it sounds like you bought an incompatible device, and I would use the way back machine to see if they declared the issue with M1 on their website before you bought. If not, you seem to have grounds for a full refund. I’d check out the other linked docks above, they seem to be well spoken of if you can’t wait.

Okay so i went and found the campaign because I hate not being thorough. link (10% back for me if you buy through it, full disclosure)

And here’s the link to the actual campaign:

Hope this helps!

HyperDrive has honestly been the best docks I've ever used. I went though a LOT of them before settling on the HyperDrive. Most are terrible.

Also, this thread title should be changed to, "I regret buying a cheap, piece of crap docking station."

Thanks for this confirmation. I saw they had been in the industry for a while but I rarely do indiegogo/kickstarter things and was slightly worried. But for the price and the look, I’m 100 sold. Hopefully when it ships it won’t have these same issues OP is having with his

It's been quite nice:

However, I am not running more displays than what is supported from Apple directly. And I have the displays connected to the system directly instead of through the dock when possible, but I have use the dock as well.

Yes, my USB Hubs nor the docking station are working.
I downloaded and installed DisplayLink Manager ( https://www.synaptics.com/products/displaylink-graphics/downloads/macos-connectivity-1.3.1 ) and it worked perfectly. Then I restarted the Mac the keyboard stopped working (USB one) and then I uninstalled DisplayLink and installed it again and restarted my MacBook and then the keyboard and all of the USB ports were working (my headphones were charging) and a bit later the external displays turned on, but they keyboard + all other USB devices stopped working.

My GreenCell USB Hubs aren't working at all. They only recognise the external display. The issue started after I upgraded to macOS12.

Now, macOS 12 has this great feature where I can copy + paste text from photos and it makes my life so much easier, but I guess I have to downgrade to Big Sur?

I know the devices aren't faulty, because they work perfectly on my old MBP (Running High Sierra) and all of my Windows laptops.
I just did a google search and went on Synaptics, it looks like their is a problem with their software not being updated to Monterey. Did you ask for an answer from them?

It's one of the main issue.
I'm using an M1 MBA. I tried it again and keyboard started working (USB one), but the displays didnt. I restarted my Mac and then the displays started working, but the keyboard and USB mouse didn't.
I've tried different docking station. Still facing the same issue.
Have you tried a different keyboard or mouse? I think you’re blaming this all on MacOS when you have to accept that things take time to catch up when a new software version is released. People think you’re being stupid on this thread cause all you’re doing is stating a fact that everyone knows; that software has issues, no matter what company that software is owned by.

1) I assume you've upgrade to 12.1? If not, do that.
2) If you still have issues, downgrade to Big Sur. Yes, some USB hubs have issues. Maybe even under 12.1. But there's no point posting here and arguing about it, we can't wave a wand and fix it. Should Apple have caught this before it was released? Yes. But they didnt and so here we are.

scrolled down to say there are docking problems with the M1 etc chip
macworld and OSXdaily have "how to" guides.
personally
i refused a brand new MacBook Airpro due to the walled garden and Catalina not playing well with others.
while Window 10 and Mojave might be that last fun and free_friendly OS that this planet will experience.
linux anyone?
