Do you guys think $4000 is to much for this Mac Pro?
http://bit.ly/1bsmxi3

It's a bit high even though he is including a couple of 27" monitors and his mint machine has 96g ram. Maybe around the price $2500 to $2800 may be reasonable. Other buyers play it smart, since it's an auction with a start bid of $2500, they would opt to place a bid and see how it goes if luck is on their side. The seller did not seem to put a "Reserved Price" minimum. Otherwise try to search for other sale ads that only offers just the tower desktop alone if you don't need the monitors.

that machines processors are so weak and the upgrade is a nightmare i just did it and i felt like the hurtlocker putting the heats sinks back on. monitors are worth 150 each the mac pro id say 1200

I thought the Mac Pro was about right. It has $1200 worth of memory and the Quadro 4000 video card is about $750. I'll keep an eye on this and see what happens.

May be best to clarify and message the seller on the foot at the back before making decisions. Or could be the angle of the shot making the foot looked damaged.

I don't know. I listed my w3690 4,1 with 48gb and 2 256gb SSD, two Titans 6gb and 3 27" 1440p custom mounted LCDs for $3500 and haven't gotten any serious bites. I only listed it this forum's marketplace so far.

I think you need to sell the titans separately and the mac pro separately... the monitors are going to be tough. As a whole thing i think it isnt very appealing because thats a very specific setup and larrgee..plus shipping would be bananas

Tried to sell Mac Pro 1.1 upgraded to Dual 3.0Ghz Quad and 2.1 Firmware with 9 GB Ram.

I could not get any decent offers on Craigslist so eventually sold it to TurnTronics for $530 cash. Thought about trying to sell on ebay but after ebay fees, paypal fees, and shipping couldn't do any better.

I then bought a used Mac Pro 2009 4.1 Quad Core locally off craigslist for $750
Upgraded it with a Xenon W3690 3.46 Ghz for $520. Upgraded graphics card to GTX 680 for $580. Upgraded firmware to 5.1

So total cost for 6 core 3.46 Ghz 5.1 with GTX 680 was $1850.
Very happy with machine so far!

Yep I would split the Titans, monitors and tower sticking a stock GPU inside. Too high end for those buying used cheesegraters..

If you were in Australia I would buy that in less 5 seconds.

Yeah its horrible, nMP is 4K for the Quad and 5.2K for the 6 core.

I know. I could guess at how it ended up that way, but even factoring out GST, it costs significantly more there. When I comment it's relative to US pricing. Mac Pro buyers are more common in large markets. Due to the lack of updates for a long time, there will be quite a few people dumping them. I suspect the nMP will be popular among those that have to deal with video capture if they can find a solution for the appropriate IO boards.
