That is true. Nevertheless you appear to have made a bold prediction that pricing wont matter and that we, the Apple masses, will blithely follow and buy new iPhone's at whatever pricing Apple say we'll pay. That didn't seem to have happened.
A real world, minor example. I got an iPhone xs max ONLY because of a mistake at a local Australian telco. I got one, effectively, for AUD 1080, give or take a few bucks. Rather than the retail price of AUD 2040!!! When I asked my wife if she wanted to move from her iPhone 7+ she said no way would she ever pay AUD $2000 for a phone. One person. How many other opportunities worldwide have Apple given up for having priced these models as Luxury goods, not "merely" premium goods? We'll all pay for quality. But overpay?
[doublepost=1546957622][/doublepost]. Pretty sure I recall price reductions in the early days when Apple's pricing was a bit "wrong".
“Seem” being the key word here. It’s as much of a hunch as my orignal comment was isn’t it?
And are we talking XS numbers or the entire iPhone lineup? Last year there were the cheaper 8 and 8 Plus, now we have XR. You can buy iPhone anywhere from relatively cheap to outlandishly expensive.
I too have a 7 Plus that I got second hand last year and I’m not looking to upgrade to a 1000+ euro phone. These examples don’t matter at all when talking worldwide sales.
