That is true. Nevertheless you appear to have made a bold prediction that pricing wont matter and that we, the Apple masses, will blithely follow and buy new iPhone's at whatever pricing Apple say we'll pay. That didn't seem to have happened.

A real world, minor example. I got an iPhone xs max ONLY because of a mistake at a local Australian telco. I got one, effectively, for AUD 1080, give or take a few bucks. Rather than the retail price of AUD 2040!!! When I asked my wife if she wanted to move from her iPhone 7+ she said no way would she ever pay AUD $2000 for a phone. One person. How many other opportunities worldwide have Apple given up for having priced these models as Luxury goods, not "merely" premium goods? We'll all pay for quality. But overpay?
[doublepost=1546957622][/doublepost]. Pretty sure I recall price reductions in the early days when Apple's pricing was a bit "wrong".

“Seem” being the key word here. It’s as much of a hunch as my orignal comment was isn’t it?

And are we talking XS numbers or the entire iPhone lineup? Last year there were the cheaper 8 and 8 Plus, now we have XR. You can buy iPhone anywhere from relatively cheap to outlandishly expensive.

I too have a 7 Plus that I got second hand last year and I’m not looking to upgrade to a 1000+ euro phone. These examples don’t matter at all when talking worldwide sales.

I personally think the XS Max is worth every penny I paid for it. I bought two 512GB XS Max, one for my AT&T line and one for my T-Mobile line. I just get so much more out of iOS such as using my phone with my Apple Watch.

I was using two Note 9s, one with each of my lines and I sold the AT&T Note 9 a few weeks ago and I didn't even get half the price of what I paid for it back in September. At least with the iPhone, I know I can still sell it if I choose to do so, at a very good price next year, although I'll likely just keep it.

Good luck with whatever phone you decide to buy. I'm sticking with the iPhone each year.

One of the issues that many analysts and pundits seem to have is looking at the iPhone as if it were in a vacuum, isolated from everything else. iPhone+Watch hardware together has no competition. Add the ecosystem, privacy policy, local stores, and then tell me what competes with them.

I mentioned this before, and I think it’s overlooked easily, but aside from Apple having really good customer service, look at how many Apple Stores they have nationwide or across the world for that matter where the customer can bring their product in for a face-to-face experience to have a repair or replacement completed right in store. As an example, Samsung has very few ‘Walk-in’ stores compared to Apple, where almost virtually everything has to be shipped for repair or replacement. That’s also another advantage for Apple, is they have physical stores.

Apple is not going to throw new key selling features to you on your old iPhones. One of the key features with XS and XR is video are recorded in stereo. Because apparently iPhone has 4 microphones. So Apple decided to add this feature only on iPhone XS and XR.

But you know what? iPhone has 4 microphones since iPhone 6S. Also you know what? Apple is not adding this feature to old iPhones, not even last year iPhone X.

If you think Apple is going to adding new fancy features to your XS going forward, then good lucky. I do not trust Apple at all.

And by the way, these cheap iPhone 6 or 6S you metioned are locked with Smart Talk. It is uncommon a discounted service provider will sell iPhone at extreme low price point. However, these phone are locked and good luck to get these unlocked.

Looking at your signature, just wondering what makes you come here and complain about iphone.

Oops, spoke too soon, Apple is doomed.

Who’s first?
Interesting. So now it can be said the next manufacturer to bring a foldable display to market is copying this company. (We know how things work)

Projected revenue of $84b in the quarter has me giggling a bit. (Even though it was revised down)

I meant to say that people buy it anyway, which was still the case. Maybe the lineup wasn't the most popular ever in most metrics, but I don't believe it was as bad as some people here make it seem. We were talking just pricing and that wasn't the only reason sales were down...

Due to weak iPhone sales in China, the effects of the U.S.-China trade war, cheap battery replacements, and other factors, Apple cut its Q1 2019 revenue guidance to $84 billion, down from the $89 to $93 billion guidance issued in November, and with the production cuts, those issues may continue further into the year.

And Samsung who also took a hit from China: https://www.reuters.com/article/us-...ll-29-percent-china-demand-weak-idUSKCN1P12C7

“Smaller investment from data centers, a really bad smartphone market in China, and impact from the U.S.-China trade war have all hit Samsung’s chip business,” Kim said.

I hate the high pricing and I've not yet upgraded my iPhone 7, but pricing alone didn't cause recent events.

You weren't supposed to take that seriously

It was just very amusing how things have changed, honestly I had the same predictions as you at that time, as I thought the iPhone XR would absolutely break records even though I see it as a poorly specced device that Apple could have done a lot more with.

Samsung I am not so surprised about as they have had a very hard time with China from Day 1.

LOL, a number of people have brought this comment up already and it's a hot topic bashing Cook at the moment. I was assuming I had to defend myself again :D. I should probably stop, but at the same time - I'm getting close to a new user title
