You would be correct, IF ONLY apple didn't make us get used to the flawless interface animations we had, for example, in iOS 6. I mean, the 6 plus (which i have) is a joke in that department. It always lags here and there, and it's frustrating because it's a NEW phone. And not to be a complete moron, my GF has the 6 plus and she absolutely loves it, even on iOS 9 (which is even worse with animations and lags). So yeah, just because i don't like it doesn't mean it's complete bs, but we do have a right to complain. Not because we have a right to have better things just because, but because things were better and became worse. We don't want the impossible, we want it how it was back then.
Also, you can't pretend the 16gb version isn't ripping people off. I mean, it's a business and i understand why they do it, but let's not pretend that it's OK and apple is so cool, but the people who call them out are just whiners. Ok? They want that 100 bucks more for a 2$ chip? Fine. But we have the right to call that BS.

I wonder if the 6+ would run a little smoother if it didn't have to constantly downsample everything to 1080p.

I think you have a defective 6+. My 6+ is as smooth as butter. Are you running 100 apps at the same time?

You can get $100 off the 6s at Costco. There will be many more $100 off deals in the next few months. You can easily get a 6s with 64GB for $650.

You were the one who started that 30 page thread complaining about people complaining. You only started this because your last thread was closed.

Also, you JUST joined this forum.

And now you can get the 6s for $100 off so all the tirade about paying $750 for a 64GB iPhone 6s is moot.

But lets not go off topic here.

What are the requirements from Costco? Is it $100 off retail or only with a contract? Also, not everyone has a Costco near them, the 64GB 6s is still $750.

All of us that read and post here are probably in the 5% of iPhone users that I would classify as phone nerds. With that comes a passion about the phone (good and bad). I think that's why you see a lot of the extremes either way.

I think it is good to switch. I'm coming back from Android after two years. It does give you perspective on what's really broken vs the small stuff (cutting both ways).

Exactly. I have had a couple of Android phones but always come back to iPhone, for lots of reasons.

That said, while I love Apple, they aren't perfect, and this is a place for us to discuss those imperfections (among other things). Maybe it's not that we need to go to Android but that OP needs to relax and bit and take this forum for what it is.

I'm okay with fair and balanced criticism. That is healthy. I'm just sick of the general negative attitude by many posters here.

Like I said before someone made a post saying he was exciting about getting the 6s. Right away there is a dozen posts saying he's a fanboy and the iPhone 6s is the worst upgrade ever. I mean seriously. If you don't like the 6s why bother posting negative stuff and calling someone a fanboy? Let the guy (and others) enjoy their anticipation.

$100 gift card at Costco. I'm pretty sure we will see Walmart and other retailers following suit.

$100 gift card only applies to the T-Mobile version, the rest are $50. You also need to be a member, have a store near you, and it's a gift card and not a discount on the phone itself. A far cry from saying the 6s now starts at $550.

Now here I agree with you. I think of that as more of being mean-spirited, which I really dislike, as opposed to being negative.

This year there was a ton of iPhone6 promotions to get $100 gift card at BestBuy, Walmart, Target, ect.

Point is if you only got $650 to spend you can easily get an iPhone 6s 64GB in the coming months. Like anything else if you are price sensitive you just gotta wait for sales.

Time, because it rules EVERYTHING!
I really think people who are unhappy about Apple's recent products should switch to Android for one year. Maybe then they will realize that not having 8k video isn't a big deal. And realize that paying a little more for the best is worth it.

Looking at the posts in here, I'm going to guess this thread was just moved into this forum section? Or it's a troll thread judging by the comment above?

This is the internet, people complain.
This thread should be in the iPhone section.

Proof? I just looked on their websites and I see no mention of any discount with 6s pre-orders for Best Buy or Target.

Well then you may have to wait a little longer. The iPhone 6s is a hot item so you may have to wait till Feb for demand to equalize with supply.

This Feb you could get $150-$200 off the iPhone6 at Best Buy:

Walmart had $75 off on BlackFriday

Every single year there are $100 off deals for iPhones

Thanks, that makes sense. I thought it may have been.
You could ask a mod to move it back? It looks like a thread discussing the iPhone primarily.
I do agree with people complaining, try something else instead then. But alas this is the internet.

I never understood why people complain but fail to act.

If I complained as much as some people on this forum I would definitely switch to Android. I mean why bitch and do nothing about it?

You could say I'm bitching about this forum. Yes I am. And I'll probably stop coming here if the negativity continues.

I'm being serious here. I read way too many negative posts in this forum. People bitching about their phone not being able to read their mind or skipping a single frame rate. Or not having the exact iPhone color they desire. Or the base phone not starting at 64GB. Or that their battery does not last through a 10 hour gaming binge.

I really think people who are unhappy about Apple's recent products should switch to Android for one year. Maybe then they will realize that not having 8k video isn't a big deal. And realize that paying a little more for the best is worth it.

Or they may realize Android is better for their situation. Either way they will be happier. They won't have to continue to bitch about what Apple should do or that Steve Jobs would never have done this or that. Or that Tim Cook is a bean counter. Or that Apple is evil and greedy and kills kittens for profit. I just don't understand people who continue to bitch and moan when they have all the power in the world to change their circumstances.
who is bitching and moaning about apple? clearly most aren't judging by recent pre-orders

People on this forum are bitching about iPhone constantly.

I'll probably just leave this forum or visit it once a month because of all the negativity. I was just trying to find a decent place where I can discuss Apple products with Apple fans but this place is a real Debbie Downer.

I have to admit, I was building up a head of steam over some shortcomings in the IPhone 6 Plus. The laggy animations, the sheer size of it, the 16GB starting size. I was a participant in one of the threads about the 16GB outrage.

So I did something in the spirit of what you're now advising people to do, I went and looked at and shopped the competition. I did it very seriously, even though I know right now I'm not ready to change to Android because of my enjoyment of the Apple Watch. But I did want to know if the competition was doing any better by its customers. So, I read reviews. I TRIED to sign up for the free trial Samsung phones, but they were out. I spent quite a bit of time not just playing with but really trying to use the demo units in the stores.

I discovered from comments and reviews that Android users, particularly Samsung customers, have the same complaints we do about the manufacturers holding out on them in terms of specs or storage size. I found out the beauty and perfection of the AMOLED displays may have been exaggerated just a hair, and that there are good points and bad points to either alternative, but I am content and happy with Apple's current display after all. I found out there are even more quirks to the Android interface than I expected in these newer iterations of Android. And that the grass isn't greener on the Android side of the fence. It's just a different kind of lawn. It will suit some of us better than others.

I'm sorry, but you joined on Saturday and you are already criticizing the posts you see on this forum? What are you comparing it too? You don't join a forum knowing what the posts are like and then complain that they should be changed...

Oh, I understand now what you're looking for in the forum. Well we can do that. There are some very fun and kind people here. I for one, would like to hear what you're excited about. Are you ordering any of the new products? I think we are going for the new Apple TV and of course, the iPhones.

It's just that around this time last year (when I joined) and apparently now again, before a new release, there are new people and hibernating regulars who become active and can be a bit tough on people. Those of us with more moderate outlooks just kind of ignore or plow over the extreme negativity.

I admit I do learn from the complaints and pick up useful tips in threads about complaints. And I make a few complaints myself. But I like my Apple Products.

I'm very excited about my rose gold 6S Plus preorder. Nothing is going to dim my enthusiasm for it. If it does arrive flawed I probably will post a whine about it and then get it exchanged or live with it. That's pretty standard around here for the months after a new iPhone release. Be prepared for all the dead pixel and yellow-tinted or flawed display posts. Oh and all the people who will be able to find a dead pixel if and only if you record a movie in 4000K in a pitch black room on a night of the full moon.

Seriously, there were people testing their video cameras for ONE pixel anomaly seen only if you shoot in slow motion in the dark. Really, who shoots slow motion video in a dark room? Apparently people on this forum do. And you know what, I kind of love them for it. This place definitely has character...and characters!
