I'm also curious about this. I currently only have the 5GB free, but if I knew that I'd automatically get upgraded to 50 for 99 cents I'd go ahead and get the 20 for 99 cents today. Any of you have experience with that? Or will I be stuck with 20 for 99 cents?

There's no tie-in anyway, so you may as well get the 20 for 99c now - if you don't get upgraded you can just cancel/change as and when you want. You only buy monthly.

Oh, ill have to see if they do that over in the UK

They don't unfortunately

Wow sorry for caps, yeah there not great are they!

Nope, especially when Dropbox offer 1TB for £7.99 a month. Or Even Microsoft with the Office 365, £8.99 which you can share with 5 family members with 1TB OneDrive storage for each of them.

Wondering too when this change will happen. I have 200GB now because 20GB was not quite enough. 50GB will cover my needs for now so once this change happens, I will be able to go from $3.99 for 200Gb to $0.99 for 50GB. $3 per month. Not a bad savings considering I pay $0.99 per month on two other devices too with 20GB on each. My family together will cost the same as my individual does today. The question is when....

Any idea what the UK prices will be? I'm on 200Gb at £2.99 a month, might upgrade buy t wouldnt mind knowing prices, and also when

Yesterday I was charged $10.99 for a yearly 20GB plan. Any ideas if im going to be able to jump to the 50gb?
You should be able to change at any time they become available. Once you leave the yearly plan, you will not be able to go back. Its no longer offered. I gave up the yearly because 20GB was no longer enough.

Until Apple let you selective sync I can't use it as my main cloud service. I want to have the option on what I want to sync on my Mac's rather than just everything.

I think its just 20Gb at 0.79p goes to 50gb for the same price, did the rest of the prices change or did I miss that?
20GB went to 50GB for $0.99, 200Gb went down a dollar, 500GB is gone and in its place is 1TB for the same $9.99 per month.

I'm sticking with CrashPlan, $5.99 per month, unlimited storage, unlimited versioning. After all the horror stories I read about iCloud... I'll pass.
I used to have that, have a similar service now, but the way iCloud integrates is good. Another backup doesnt harm, it's synced, means I can delete, basic edit and they reflected when I'm on my iMac. I've only got 200Gb at mo, £35 a year is decent for what it does to me.

I'm guessing 79p, £2.29 and £6.99 for 50, 200, 1TB.

The 2.29 is a guess based on reducing the current 2.99 down in proportion to the US change then rounding to the nearest price Apple use on the App Store.

Wow, I don't know if it's me or not, but these days, calling Apple always results in a headache.

Yesterday, I got charged $3.99 for the 200gb plan (has been charged monthly). I called support today, because it should have been $2.99 instead of $3.99. When calling, I was told they had refunded me and that I should be okay; they were showing 3GB free on my iCloud account.

What. The. Heck?

I have ~50gb of photos/videos plus apps, etc.! They said they only had their system show backups. Wtf. They said initially that iCloud pricing should go down tomorrow, then said in a few days.

Makes no sense, and now I'm down to 5gb of iCloud storage with 0 available and the pricing still showing $3.99.

The new prices are up for worldwide https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201238

Basically in UK the 20GB goes to 50GB for same price. 200GB drops 50p to £2.49 and 1TB will be £6.99. If you signed up for a plan before today (16th Sept) your prices etc will alter automatically, otherwise I guess you just go straight on the new plans once they go live. And I guess the new pricing will go live with iOS 9

What's happened to the 500Gb option? What happens if you were on that option?
