I suppose this was broken for everyone who has the latest Safari (even on Macs with Mojave, High Sierra, etc) or the latest iOS/ipadOS. Even if you have 5 devices and only 1 has the latest Safari - problem occurs globally for your account.

Somehow the new version corrupts icloud tab syncing. So, let's wait for Safari update (on Mac) and iOS/ipadOS updates.

Is anyone having a problem syncing iCloud tabs?

Last night I noticed that when I went to the tab list in Safari on my iPad Pro 11 it showed a tab opened on my iPhone 7 Plus that I had closed earlier that day. I thought maybe I hadn’t closed it, but I checked and I did. I tried removing it on my iPad Pro, but it kept coming back. I tried restarting both devices, but that didn’t do anything. I then powered on an old IPad Air 2 on the same iCloud account and checked Safari there and there were no tabs listed for other devices.

At that point I started opening tabs on various devices and closing Safari and then closing the tabs. Eventually all 3 devices showed no tabs opened on other devices.

This morning they are all completely wrong again. My iPhone shows 1 tab opened on my Pro, which has no tabs open. My Pro shows 1 tab from my Air that has no tabs opened. My Air shows 3 tabs opened on my Pro. All the tabs were things I had opened last night.

I tried opening and closing tabs and nothing seems to resolve this. I even tried toggling Safari off and on in the iCloud settings on my Air 2, but that just removed the iCloud tabs and then brought them back. As such the problem seems to be with what’s stored in iCloud.

Any ideas?
Hi. I have the same issue. For more then 3 weeks. I have been working on it with APPLE support for very long time. Had to send diagnostic to Apple and many other stuff. But still not working well. I use Iphone- MBA(Big Sur) and IMac(Catalina). I have calls with Apple support almost twice weekly to sort it out. All other iCloud stuff works perfect but Safari tabs. I have no idea when it gets back to normal.

I went from showing old computers and/or no tabs over the last few weeks to tabs now appearing correctly on my MBA w/Big Sur and iPad Pro. However, no tabs show up at all on my iPhone 12 Pro. Also the iPhone tabs that show open on the MBA and iPad are around 12 hours "old".

Eighteen pages in, we get it. Everyones tabs are broken. See page 1. Darn you Apple....you have Rick Astley spinning on repeat here.

just a moment ago, checking my iCloud tabs on iPad iPhone macbook. everything is shown correctly. on my iPhone, I went to another website, bang, all iCloud tabs on my Macbook just disappeared. on my iPad they are shown correctly. Strange

I haven’t actually contacted Apple as I figured they’d fix it at some point and I didn’t want to go through the song and dance of having them tell me to wipe all my devices and set them up as new.
I reported the same issue 2 weeks ago. Today it seems like things are changing. No mess in Cloud tabs and and slowly synchronizing.

Running Beta 2 of MacOS (11.1 (20C5061b) with Safari Version 14.0.2 (16610.3.7.1.5) just released today and alas the problem persists.

First, nothing on my iPhone would show up on my iPad, or Mac. I turned off the iCloud Safari in the setting on my iPhone, nothing changed so I decided to turned off and back on again the iCloud Safari on the other devices (stupid me) just to see if it would fix the iPhone issue. Now, I end up with no iCloud tabs on any of my devices... This is freaking annoying!

Strangely, all seems ok now. Been on all devices all day and all are currently showing each other’s tabs.

However it’s nearly 3am here now, and they’ll most likely all be f ucked up by the morning 😄

Ah, no I spoke too soon, I KNEW it!!!

working ok in iPad and Mac earlier but now no tabs at all on phone. It was all ok earlier on all devices. Now it’s all tw4tted again. JFC. 👀

So I actually attempted to contact Apple support after waiting TOO LONG for this to be fixed. I might never attempt it again. Waited an hour, got transferred, dropped, transferred to a "senior advisor", dropped again, transferred to a "specialist", and after explaining the problem each time, point to this forum, etc, they said they would have to call me back. Unbelievable. Wasted 2 hours of my Saturday, should have known better. That will teach me to expect better support from Apple considering the pile of cash I've invested in their products and services. ugh.

Just adding to the thread here,
I am also having the same issue with iCloud tabs not syncing ever since the 14.2 update. Other than tabs, as far as I can tell, synchronizing seems to be working. For example I tried Calendar and Notes and they synced without problems between my iPad and my iPhone. However, while experimenting with these apps I’ve noticed that the game “Fallout Shelter” is also not syncing. So it seems that the problem is not limited to just iCloud Tabs.
Note: I don’t have a Mac and so I‘ve only experienced syncing problems between my iPad and iPhone.

I believe this is the case: latest Safari on any device will break iCloud tabs!

I just bought iPhone 12 and since I login with my iCloud account, iCloud tabs synchronization stop to work even between MBP (10.14.4) and my old iPhone SE (13.3.1)...

A very similar thing happened to me.

My iCloud tabs keep disappearing after a few seconds of Safari starting. Also the folder favicons only show for certain folders which is also random every start of the app.

Honestly calling Apple Support is useless our problems are so niche, we have to find a solution ourselves. So any luck for anyone here ?

You cannot fix cloud problems yourself. The only thing you can do is complain loud enough, like a Karen. We're all Karens now.

Yesterday iCloud tabs appear on my new iPhone but only from old iPhone, not from MacBook!

I did not change anything, iClouds just appear by themselves on new iPhone.

On MacBook and old iPhone I still do not see tabs from new iPhone... :(
