Mine has been working perfectly this morning - 2 Macs, iPad, iPhone - updates perfectly, closes, new tabs, etc.! I can close tabs remotely too. I hope it keeps up!!!

For me, this has gone on for so long now that I don't even expect it to get fixed anymore. Maybe Apple just won't repair it for everyone or for all devices.

Still working great for me. Surprisingly instantaneous, both iPhone>MacBook and vice versa.

Had forgotten how cool and convenient this feature can be.

Still not even appearing for me, is anyone else experiencing the problem still?

Still working for me, for the past 24 hours.

Try closing Safari on all devices (‘killing’ the app via the app switcher) and reopening. After reading others in this thread saying it was working for them, initially yesterday my iPhone was showing my iPad tabs, but the iPad wasn’t showing the iPhone tabs. I closed Safari and reopened and, voila, tabs syncing instantaneously 👌🏻.

Yes, mine started working again last night. MBP, iPad and iPhone SE all syncing almost immediately. And closing a tab remotely is working too, without gumming up the works.

One thing I did before it started working again: I opened Settings on iPhone, clicked on Apple ID, then iCloud, then toggled off and on the Safari app switch.

It's been a long haul. Hope it continues to work.

Seems to work for me right now as well. A bittersweet development, it took them 2+ months to fix with no acknowledgement at all.

It still does not work for me. Maybe this is device dependent, or maybe it's another case where it seems to work only temporarily before disappearing or becoming outdated again. For those of you who claim this works: what devices/software versions have you checked this on?

Thanks, I tried that and still no luck. I had previously turned the safari icloud sync on and off on both devices previously which I think may have made it worse, before that some tabs were showing but they weren’t syncing, just showing previous tabs I had, since I turned off and back on no tabs are showing at all, not even the text is there that reads iPhone. I can only hope it just finds its way back.

It's not entirely clear we should be using past tense yet, though. Read through the thread, and in page after page you can see plenty of comments of people (erroneously) asserting that because the tabs work fine for a few minutes or hours, that the problem has been resolved. Well, it hasn't. I assume a software update will be required, and the last I checked, no new software updates had been pushed out for some time now thanks to the holiday season.

So you wanted apple to put out a press release to acknowledge that iCloud tabs was broken?

You might not be bothered, but most of us would’ve liked some kind of confirmation from Apple that a) there is an issue, and b) they are working on it!

Apple is a trillion dollar company with some of the best devs working for them with literally infinite resources, they take pride in their products and claim 'it just works'. Yes, I want them to a) admit there was an issue in their iCloud status page (where it was green for months and still is). b) fix it properly and swiftly without us resorting to 30+ pages of forum discussion and hours on their support line without any improvement at all.

I noticed there is barely any criticism of them recently, even if I use their ecosystem extensively I want to be able to hold them accountable for their services.

Again, this issue is NOT fixed.
It is working for me and several others. It might be that your state in the cloud is broken and not updated (yet?), these systems, although they seem instant, use a queuing mechanism to avoid problems with capacity. Can you please do the following:

- Close all the tabs on devices (you can bookmark all tabs if you want to recover them later)
- Restart the Safari on all devices, a full cycle
- Make sure you are on latest build/update (I don't think this matters as its a cloud issue but better safe than sorry)
- Make sure you are not blocked on any firewall, ad blocker, etc... (might seem stupid but my router blocker blocks very aggressively, it even blocked tutanota)
- Use 4G/5G on your phone to make sure the above and something similar is not the issue

Can you please let us know if the problem persists? Also you can force a sync via Safari's debug menu, by following these these instructions

Wow, mine is working! Opening a tab on my Mac, it now appears on my iPad within 5 seconds. If I close it from my iPad, it disappears on my Mac within 5 seconds.

Fingers crossed, but it seems fixed.

Started working for me since yesterday and still syncing correctly. iPhone and iPad still on 14.3 and MacOS on 11.1.

I have an iPhone on 14.3 an MBA on Big Sur and an iMac on Mojave and they all sync as of yesterday and continue to sync in real time. I did have to restart my phone for that one to catch up.

this is not software dependent as it broke and got fixed independently of any updates. I can’t say it’s 100% fixed for everyone; maybe it’s rolling out based on server location or something.

have you tried restarting your devices and toggling safari off and on in iCloud?

Yes, I have rebooted and also toggled safari on/off in iCloud settings on all devices. No iCloud tabs show up.

Probably we can share some coarse geographical location information, e.g., which state you're in now or which server your iCloud is connecting to using things like little snitch, to see if it's a server side bug?
