Out of the current models? I wish I'd waited a few more days and special-ordered the 3.0GhZ MacBook Pro with maxed out RAM instead of the version I got. Not complaining, mind you! :p

Not that they'll ever really bring it back, but I'd love to see an updated version of the G4 Cube. I'm sure I'm a small minority.

fully loaded mac pro with dual monitors.

Mac SE/30! Best computer ever made!

Just kidding!

Maxed out MacPro, since my MBP is still blazing fast on it's 28th month of everyday service :D

Apple Gaping Lineup Hole

The mac that Apple refuses to make. Yes, I'm talking about the model that would fill the infamous Apple Gaping Lineup Hole!!!.

A mac that would that gaping hole between the low end iMac and the high end Mac Pro, a quad core Mac that has expandability! Now there's a Mac I could really use. Don't shoot the messenger but the iMac is low end, just a small notch above the Mini. The fact is, there really is a huge jump between the Mini/iMac and the Pro.

I really don't care for iMacs (starting to hate them a little more, day by day), the Mini is a cool design and i could use my ACD with it but the Mini doesn't have enough graphics horsepower.

If Apple would put decent quad cpu and graphics in the iMac, as well clean up its ridiculously ugly bezel, I would consider an iMac.

IMO that price point is appalling for quad core. Perhaps a price in the middle of the iMac line, $1499-$1799, would be realistic for an i7 rig with expandability. The big problem with the iMac is the heat problem from using standard processors.

Apple has positioned itself as hardware company with large profit margins so I am not going to hold my breath for competitively priced hardware. It's just the way it is. Apple has surprised us before. Perhaps someday they will sell OS-X so people won't have to build Hackintoshes.

Desktop: A Mac mini with a graphics card worth writing home about - How about a "normal" desktop, give it the form-factor of a shuttle, and space for a graphics card.

Laptop: 12" Powerbook, with 2gb of RAM and a faster FSB.

A fully loaded 24" iMac w/ external cinema display (whatever is biggest!). The Mac Pro is tempting, but I really like the form factor of the iMac, and a fully loaded Mac Pro would be way more than I need!

For memorabilia, I'd like the Mac used in "ST:The Voyage Home" that Scotty uses to formulate "transparent aluminum."

For fun, the warehouse bank of 1100 dual 2.3GHz Xserve G5s that was configured by VT into a low cost "supercomputer."

Finally, I don't think I'd need Steve, just his current computer that has the R&D and executive directives, so I can plan my Apple investments for the next few months. :D

That's an easy one for me. I'd like to get my hands on a mac pro with the 2 2.26GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon "Nehalem" processors. Just knowing I have all that power to run all my recording software & then some. Plus some serious bragging rights. Look mom "I'm on top of the world" :D

Lol but if you had to choose one what would it be...?

That's easy!!! The very first Mac I paid out of my own pocket after putting in insane amounts of overtime for months: the Centris 650. Even though I've since buried it and remarried, I'll never forget my lovely first bride. :D

i too have my dream mac the emac

if i could wish for something and apple would build it for me ,then it would be
again a emac

The iMac I have in my sig. I have it until the school year's up. I'm the editor of our school broadcast, so my video productions teacher lets me use the iMac at home.

I'm going to cry when I have to give it back!
