Many website provided a truncated experience for mobile devices. For example, most forums won't show signatures in the mobile version. With others zooming images doesn't work quite right. It's not unusable, but definitely a sub par experience. I have not owned a large phone, so I can't say if that would address the issue.

lol word is that small phones aren't popular. Well, well, what do we have here?

iPhone SE.

I do not need an iPad sized phone.

I have never ever watched a film on my phone.
I have never read a book on my phone - that's what reall books or Kindles are for.
I have never played games on my phone.

I need something small and fast.

Are you listening Cupertino?

Exactly. And well said.

In common with yourself, I don't read books, play games or watch anything on my iPhone - it is for making and taking calls.

I loved the form factor of the 4, 4S, 5, 5S and SE.

Personally, I have the SE and love the size, ease of use and portability.

Many mobile phones display the same content, only on a larger screen. The viewable area doesn't always change with screen size. A lot of people are under the impression that bigger screen always equates to more content viewed on a website, which isn't true. I would say most websites are not fully optimized to take advantage of the larger screen real estate. Also depends on how much larger the screen is.

In short, people often confuse proportions/ratios with size.

@s54

Not only that - I don't know about you, but I see people with bigger screen phones out and about and it seems to be mainly an accessibility choice.

I routinely see Plus/Max sized phones and the font is jacked WAY UP IN SIZE

My aunt has her phone font so large that emails are basically 1-2 words per line.

You can simulate a variety of devices in Safari for MacOS by enabling "Developer Tools" in the preferences, and then picking "Enter Responsive Design Mode". Here's what it looks like:

Oddly, many of the newer iPhones are missing, though. Chrome has a similar feature, too.

7 Plus. All in one aluminum unibody design, and you don’t have to worry about the back cracking. Couldn’t care at all for wireless charging.

Apple should go back to the “squared” design of the 4/5. You could stand those things vertically/ horizontally due to the flat edges. Clever.

Iphone X. By far the best iteration yet.

Definitely. The 5.8 Display is not necessarily as large as I expected it would be, but on the ‘comfortability’ aspect side of things holding _and_ manipulating one-handed, it’s stellar for my usage. As a Max/Plus owner, the larger display trumps everything else when I factor viewing content/media.

Wireless charging is epic. A pad at the office and nightstand - I cent remember when was the last time I plugged in the phone.

Curious, what do you find that's so "epic" about it?

It's been my experience that the X charges something like 5 times slower wirelessly. So I found myself using a cable 99% of the time anyway, especially since you can charge it (10 times?) faster with fast charging.

I end some days with as much at 70% charge remaining, and charge it while I am sleeping. I could care less that it charges “5 times slower” - even if that figure is made up.

Besides, fast charging is harder on the battery, and will ultimately affect longevity of the battery.

All fair points.

The reason I asked was because I had the opposite experience. Of course the 5 times slower comment was what it feels like to me. It is definitely much slower than both standard charging and fast charging. And while I heard that faster charging is harder on the battery, I also heard the same about wireless charging. Not sure about your phone, but my iPhone X used to get pretty hot during wireless charging.

turn a iPhone over and they all look the same

No, they don’t. Actually, quite the opposite if you look at the back of an iPhone traditionally, Apple was using stainless originally, until they reverted to aluminum, and now glass, and then obviously the Camera orientation has changed as well.

The flat sides of the 5 / SE are so much better to hold. The flush camera means it sits better on a surface (tempered glass screen and vinyl wrap are all the protection it needs, so no camera bump is important). No curve to the glass is better for a screen protector.
