Lisa Jackson needs to find a new job, and Apple needs a priority re-assessment. It is not more "green" to produce cases that wear out many times faster than prior ones.

You're right. And that's another example of Apple "greenwashing." They only care about the environment so long as it wins them PR points and doesn't affect their bottom line. No different than any one else doing the same thing.

I appreciate that the FineWoven material is produced from recycled plastic, but isn’t the sustainability only effective if the case itself continues to be recycled at end of life?

If these end up in landfill, I don’t see how they’re any better for the environment than leather.

Yup, that's the trick. People don't think about things like that. They only hear the high-level PR statements. They don't think about the total cost of ownership, or the entire chain of custody. But Apple spins it the right way, it sounds like the right thing and people applaud them for it. That's the power of good marketing.

And has replaced Leather with Fine Woven cases which lack durability and quality
Poor decision by Apple , after all the customer deserves quality

Exactly. If this was priced around $10-30, then it would just be another poorly received case and that would be it. The fact it's being sold for the same price as the leather cases is the issue here.
