what would be great for the app would be to see the bbc live scores printer or at least all the goals and games for a chosen division.

I like to keep track of my teams scores but also see how everyone else is doing and this is not great at the moment as you can only do one team ata time.

Great app though - top marks to the developer

I talk to him every day, I think I would know. ;)

Fair enough then!

I only brought up the point because I imagine it would use the same framework as well as UI. All the info could be gathered from the bbc in the same way as it is currently with iFooty.

I was under the same impression as you that there would be a lot of similarities and that the data could probably be fetched from the BBC in the same way. But I don't follow rugby myself, so I don't know whether the format would be so similar. He seemed to think it would be a completely different app (apart from the UI, which could look similar). And because he's very busy with his full-time job and not that interested in rugby, I doubt it will happen without some other incentive (maybe as a paid-for app - $1.99?). I don't know what the demand is for an app like this.

I certainly wouldn't mind paying $2 on an app like that. I'd like to consider myself very knowledgeable about the sport, hence my offer to the developer of any help I could give. I know football and I know rugby, and looking at iFooty, the format of the app would be virtually identical for rugby.

Anyway, never mind, if he's not interested then fair enough, it was just a thought I had.

Too bad there aren't different ports for this for different types of footy. Gridiron already has its own (I guess; I don't follow it). getting one for Rugby would be great. MLS as well.. Personally, I'd like something like this for Aussie Rules Football. That... would be effing sweet!

Hey Dave,

iFooty will be available in the US app store this weekend

Cheers,
Jeremy

sounds like it's coming!!!

Oh gosh. I still can't find it in the App store. Anyone know if they happen to re-name it? I'm just waiting to get it in the US store cause I'm a big Manchester Untied fan. This would let me follow my team progress on the go!! Yippeee!!!

A huge Manchester United here in the US too. I registered as a UK resident and was able to download it and install it. It's a great app, didn't crash as much as i heard. No more than any other app. Anyway, I had to reformat my computer due to a virus, but now I get a message that I can't install it because I'm not authorized. I wonder if there was an update. I can't remember how I managed to get it on to be honest.
it's a lovely app. great if I'm not home to watch the games, i can get a minute by minute game updates with text.

According to a message here, it should have been here last weekend. I'm hoping it's just delayed.

Well, it's still not in the US Store and I would think that we wouldn't get it here after all.

How did you register to be in the UK App Store? I'll like to do that too to get the App into my iPhone.

go to the uk store, create an account and instead of supplying any credit card details, you must REDEEM a UK iTunes store voucher...
so purchase a UK iTunes gift voucher beforehand...

it will then create your account with x.xx credit (depending on vakue of your voucher).. and you can then get the iFooty free app ;)

i use the same method to get stuff from the US store...

Thanks. I just bought a UK iTunes giftcard. Will try to redeem it and register myself. Hope i would be able to get on the UK store and download the iFooty. Thanks for the help!! Appreciate it!!!

Just managed to install iFooty on my iPhone. Thanks. I can know keep tabs on Manchester United if i do miss their games on TV. I'm also installing Real Soccer 09. Awesome game on the iPhone. I'm gonna burn down my iPhone battery even faster now. :D

I don't think I seen where I can redeem a gift card. Does it actually say iTunes gift card. I would like to do this tonight when I get home. :)

How did you manage that? I did not buy an itunes card, I just chose to be billed later, or something like that. Whenever I try to sync it says I'm not authorized to install this app. I'm signed in as my other identity which has an English address, but I'm assuming they check the IP address.

If you buy a card, do they not check the IP address then?

Also, the lowest card is 15 pounds, $30. I love this app but I can't spend that much money. I'm not sure I can redeem that.

I received and email from Jeremy saying he's trying but tied in legal issues with BBC. STIPHONE can you please leave detailed steps you took in order to make this work, thanks.

I could not figure out how to remove my previous to entries. I solved the problem. When I registered as a UK resident, I received a confirmation email, I clicked on the link that was in it and it now works fine. You don't have to buy a card by the way.

Sweet I got it too!!

I got mine to finally work as well.

I went to http://www.tunecore.com/freealbum and grabbed the code. Signed out of iTunes, went to Redeem, put it the code. Created an account with a UK address (used Old Trafford), selected None for payment type, put in the code again and then got a message that I could not use the code with a UK account. I was then logged into iTunes account I created and I was then allowed to download iFooty.

You guys rock! Thank you so much! I've been waiting for this app to show up as well as make an iTunes UK account. Thanks again!

Hey Dave,

I am currently working through some legal issues related to using the BBC's data in the US. I'll send out an e-mail to all who have asked me about it as soon as i have good news!
