Sorry -- I just get frustrated quickly with the demonization of the "true" hacker subculture. Blame mainstream media.
Sorry too -- I wasn't trying to "demonize" the hacker. I have been called a hacker too, because of the deep customizations that I do to the programs that I use. You're right, though. It's mainstream media that causes hackers to be viewed the way that they are, and it is frustrating to those of us who understand the legitimacy of hacking.
