Just return it. No point in you withholding stock from those that actually want the device.

Why be sorry and why should anyone even want to convince you about the iPad. If you don't like it, return it, end of story! If we all liked the same things, it would be a dull world. Being dissatisfied with something causes the new and better being developed!:D

If you've only had it a few days, the Apple store will likely waive the fee and the rental cost you nothing. You could opt for a less expensive model or simply wait for the next device which will certainly be more capable and probably cost less.

As for asking people to convince you, if you didn't have mixed feelings in the first place it wouldn't matter what we say. I suggest ignoring this thread and making up your own mind. We won't be around to share in the consequences of your decision, so why listen to us now? And what do you care if I love my iPad for taking notes in a class you will never attend at a University you have never seen?

I can see some merit in your "convince me" question. Perhaps you overlooked something and some of us may shed light on usefulness of the device that you have overlooked. I have found uses for my device by reading these forums, but even if we do point out some "killer app" that causes you to keep your device a little longer, will it be enough to make you feel better 6 months from now when iPad Pro comes out for $199 and has 256 gigabytes of storage, 5 usb ports, firewire, an sd slot, 4 gig of RAM and unlimited free access to all movies, music and apps in the app store? ;)

I'm thinking that I shouldn't give a damn what the OP does or doesn't do regarding an $800 purchase that doesn't seem very well thought-out, unless anybody can convince me otherwise.

They're not going to waive anything. You'll have to pay the restocking fee.

Convince you to not return it? That seems odd. When I want to return something I don't need anyone to convince me otherwise -- I dream of that big credit on my CC statement even as I'm walking into the store, and oh what a relief when I walk out. It's like I made money! So I have to ask are you really sure you want to return it? Maybe you want it but feel bad spend $800? In that case why not just downgrade to the 16GB WiFi model?

Oh, and before you eat the 10% restock fee -- try to sell on eBay. That's how I got rid of my 16GB WiFi when I upgraded to the 3G. After eBay and PayPal fees and shipping I broke even -- including sales tax.

This thread gives me a bad taste...
Why so many people even replying, when they do not want to try to convince the OP?
Just stay away and quit flaiming.

NO DON'T GET RID OF IT! OMG WHAT ARE YOU THINKING, MAN?

Is that convincing enough? Do whatever you want. Why are you asking for someone to convince you? Do you do this with everything? "Am I hungry? Hey man, convince me I'm hungry. Convince me I'm going to want a taco."

return or not return... return or not return... return or not return..... there is an app for that... :D

Yeah return it nobody cares what you do. Next time, you may want to try thinking things out BEFORE you buy and save yourself some hassle.

I agree, it's not worth $800. Personally at present I consider the only viable choice to be the 16gig wifi, the rest are too expensive for what it is.
