Not true, 11.0.1, 11.0.2 and 11.0.3 are also available as well as iOS 11.2 beta.

I was thinking as I typed that that they are still signing 11.0.3 for a few more days but I didn’t think they would still be signing anything less than that. I said iOS 11.1 or nothing because I don’t see any reason to choose 11.0.3 over 11.1.

I've never understood this "I'll stick with old versions forever" thing.

Security is the biggest reason to upgrade. Stop delaying! Not installing new updates immediately is always a good idea, but skipping whole major versions is just silly.

Having your iPhone on the original iOS version it shipped with is the way to ensure you will always have the best performance for it since the iOS was originally optimized for that device.

I used to jailbreak my iPhones and stay on old versions all the time. Nothing went wrong as far as security goes. I have nothing to hide. No need to be paranoid. My iPhone 7 is trucking along awesomely on 10.3.3 and I have no intention to update maybe ever. I'm not worried about security. The chances of something weird actually happening because I didn't update my iPhone to iOS 11 is so so tiny I don't mind.

Complacency rules I see...having something to hide is utterly irrelevant...

There is a distinction between "nothing went wrong" and "I didn't notice anything going wrong" :)

You missed your chance to get 10. It ran great on my 6s (and was faster and smoother than 9 ever was right from the start). 11 is about the same as 10, but with worse battery life...

Why do you say this? How did u test it?

Well with iOS 10 my 6s still had 50-60% at the end of a typical work day (after coming off the charger in the morning), now it struggles to make it through the day without a top up. It's also the most commonly reported issue with iOS 11...

So the battery life thing has been irking me, but I finally figured out the issue. It was mail... some issue with my exchange was introduced when I upgraded to iOS 11 and my background usage for mail has been significantly higher than it should have been (and now that I think of it, strange things were happening as well where appointments I had declined in outlook on my work computer were showing up as accepted in my iPhone). Once I deleted my exchange account from my phone, reset my phone and then reinstalled my exchange account the battery drain issue vanished. All good here now with no performance issues to report with iOS 11 on my 6s, with performance about the same as it was in iOS 10, plus some important security updates.

Still happy with my 9.7 Pro on iOS 9.3.4. Flawless. Battery life the same as when it was new being one year old and 170 cycles. I highlight this as when I updated my iPad 4 to iOS 7 I basically lost two hours of battery life - and my iPad was 4 months old.

How can i find out how much less free space (compared to iOS9) there will be on my iPhone6S+ 64GB if i upgrade to iOS11?

Cause unless you're on the newest hardware, I believe you should stay on whatever version software your device ships with

11 is ok aside from minor glitches. That being said, battery life on my 8+ and Air 2 kinda suck. Gets warm so i reckon some runaway process is running. Restoring as new works for a while and then back to usual drain

Wow. You need to educate yourself, Security is everyone’s responsibility. Leaving your phone unpatched is a attack vector which can be exploited against whatever network you happen to be connected to at any given moment. It’s not necessarily about YOUR data. There’s a reason why the breaches keeping getting bigger and more damaging.
