Yes, I am being serious. No where did I criticize him for his "entitlement" to an iPad. I criticized his approach of one stuck pixel rendering his iPad as not worth keeping.

The problem is that you feel your opinion is superior to any others. The iPad wasn't advertised as being nearly perfect. That means he's entitled to an iPad with all pixels in perfect working order. Anything less than that is simply not what he payed for.

From my perspective indeed I do. Does it make it actually superior? Well, that's subjective. He asked for the opinion of others and I gave mine.

Mines perfect. So is everyone elses that I know.

I had a bad one, dust under the screen. Got it replaced, no issues and actually has about 5 extra hours of battery life then advertised.. With light use (web/email) and not turning the screen off for longer then 30 minutes / regular sleeping time (6 hours) which didn't even drain the battery a percent.

I'm getting embarrassed of going to the apple store. I absolutely love my iPad, but I keep having problems.

First, I had drip marks on the screen (oleophobic coating was messed up). Apple replaced it.

Then, dust was under the screen. Apple replaced it.

Now, there's a stuck pixel that I cant unstick.

Should I take it in yet again? Does an iPad without defects exist?

I'm thinking about just returning it...although I love it, at this point it's giving me more stress than happiness. :(
I think your just being a PITA. Every new product that comes out their is someone that just has to find something wrong with it.

I have a perfect one, but it took a few goes to get it.

My first had a flickering backlight, second a faulty home button, third a dead pixel, and fourth another flickering backlight.

Finally onto my fifth, and so far its is perfect. :D

Why not just keep it and let it have a beating for nine months, then take it back and ask them for a replacement? You'll have a brand new machine (and since it's a later run will probably have some of the kinks from the first run ironed out) and have a fresh battery.

My iPad is perfect.

There are some people who have a bad attitude and stubbornly refuse to believe that there are perfect ones. I have decided that they deserve what they get. And instead of getting irritated with them, I have decided to just relish in their suffering and enjoy their misery. I am happy that they have to suffer, and hope that they will never get their hands on a perfect product.

Meh. Mine's perfect. I'd notice a stuck pixel if I had one.

The OS is rather crippling IMO but it's not "defective."

You should take it back. This time open it in the store and make sure it's okay before you leave. Hopefully that will keep you from having to return it again. Sorry that you've had so many problems. It will all be worth it in the end.

I have taken 2 back for a stuck or deal pixel, and would do so again. Think about it, the display is one of the key features in the product. Knowing that there are other ipad's without stuck/dead pixels is reason enough. Why should you have a product that is of lower quality then another person's. Your entitled to what you pay for, and if apple was willing to exchange your previous stuck pixel in the past, then they feel that way as well. I would try to get another one, if that has issues, I would ask for a refund and buy one from somewhere else or possibly wait for ver 2. Good luck

I took mine back for 2 stuck pixels. It turned out to be dust and was exchanged. I asked to check the replacement in store which the Genius was happy to do. All he did was keep it in the cellophane until I said I was happy. It's pretty easy to spot a dead pixel on an all which screen. Safari is good for this. I had no qualms about getting mine replaced. I paid £699 for it so want it to be perfect out of the box.

thanks guys, guess ill set up an appointment and take it over there once again. im embarrassed that i have to keep going back there, i feel like i know all of the 50+ employees that work there lol.

Eek!

I wonder, are all these included in the "number of iPads shipped"? :p

If it's within 14days you don't need an appt. Just go up to a worker. I was told to do so by the workers there and had no problem. Having a genius bar appt may mean you receiving what some call a "brown box" ipad (possibly refurb internal parts). Just walk on in and explain that you bought this ipad and found a stuck or dead pixel. If over 14 I would make an appt. I also feel your pain in that it does get somewhat embaressing, but I have 4 apple stores within driving distance in pa/nj.

I would not live with a stuck pixel on my iPad. On a GPS thing in my car, I have one big bright green stuck pixel. But I don't care about that. But on my iPad that is supposed to be the screen crispness for watching movies and stuff, I would definitely return it.

I believe mine came with a slight scratch on the screen that is pretty much unnoticeable. I tried to exchange it, but they wouldn't let me. Oh well, you can't even see it. i got over it. But a stuck pixel, I'd be fighting with them till they exchanged it.

My first iPad WifI had a speck of dust under the screen that looked kinda like a faded gray tiny smudge. At first I was upset about it then I learned to live with it. Later I decided to get the 3G version instead and it is PERFECT! Not only that but the wifi version had a yellow tinge to the screen where the 3G model doesn't. I have them both sitting side by side at the same brightness level and the difference is very noticible.
GO FIGURE!

If it bothers you that much then exchange it. Explain to the store that it is your third one. Go to a different store if you think it will help. Make sure to check out the new one with while there.

It is really about where your tolerances are with any perceive or real flaw. It is not a small am out of money you spent so you should exchange it for another so you don't sit there and regret it later that you didn't when you had the chance.

Oh and I haven't had any of the issues you or others have. But if I did I would exchange it if it bothered me.
