Best for ergonomics today I think is to have a sit/stand desk (http://ergonofis.com) with the shelf https://ergonofis.com/collections/monitor-and-laptop-stands/products/desk-shelf to make it a bit higher.

At least this is what I'm looking to very soon :p
Indeed a sit/stand desk seems like the perfect workplace. However, I noticed that I used my sit/stand desk in the office much less frequently than I previously thought. So for my home office I started with a high-quality office chair (“Steelcase Please”) and a VESA monitor arm from Ergotron, which also freed up desk space.

I looked at many other, similar products, but it seems that cheaper alternatives are not fully adjustable and/or tend to lose the power to keep the monitor steady after some time, so it would eventually sink down.

I managed to get an Amazon Warehouse deal and the Ergotron arm looks and feels rock-solid and moving the monitor is firm (adjustable) but buttery smooth. One of the best purchases I did in recent years!
