I don't understand how can you think to be able to play a game without a full rgb room that looks like a xmas tree and without a quad titan xp.Can we stop with this childish motto already? Serious gamers? Really? Like it's an elite of people who does serious stuff? Do I also need a keyboard and headset full of coloured led to be serious? I mean pc master race, console peasant, and so on it's very funny when you are teen but eventually it's tiring for adults....

Yeah, I want the same configuration but with 1TB SSD, cos I know that 512 will be not enough - my Mac mini is almost full and it's not even the main computer, my MBP is almost full and don't even have downloaded games or bootcamp (just college stuff and photos) - 1TB is a sweet spot for me
I'm happy that you are happy![]()
And about Battlefield 1: it is a good to know that is working well on the new iMac.
Thanks for everyone’s contribution. I went with i5, 580 512gb model. Can’t wait for it to arrive. Going to build a new desk for it. Should be a great Mac desktop for many years.
I'm curious about the comments on Prepar3D. Have you used that with the new iMac? Isn't that simulation CPU intensive rather than GPU? Is the 30 fps on lower settings something you've experienced with the new iMac, if so, which one?
I haven't purchased my new iMac yet and have never used Prepar3D before, however, it seems like I was able to get close to 30 fps on FSX on my current iMac (late 2012 i7) with medium settings. Prepare3D is one of the games I will be playing, along with Battlefield.

Random question, what kind of desk are you building? I build and sell desks and tables as sort of a hobby side business so I love hearing what other people use. This is my personal desk at home

Looks good, love the finish.
However if you build desk and want to market to the Apple crowd find some and creative ways to hide those wires. Like channels under the desk or down the legs or a way to run the wires in the tubing of the leg or something. While that looks great I can't help from stare at the wires dangling.
Really? Wow ok thanks! Good tip I'll definitely work that out. That was before I set my Mac up on there so there I had a lot more wires than I do now. But I appreciate your input, just started this and I'm still trying to find what sells the best. Wires will be made hidden from now on. Also working on adjustable sitting to standing desks
I could be wrong though, I can't speak for everyone and I don't know anything about the furniture building business (ironically because my step father does it). Just the time and effort I (and many other users here) have invested into cable management has to carry some sort of value.
If the desk I have had an option for routing computer wires and USB cable integration for 100 dollars more or so I would have definitely have bought opted for it.
I buy relatively nice furniture that is somewhat expensive so a small investment to actually make it look nice is a no brainer.
Oh yeah definitely! I was planning on adding a USB charging hub on the front of mine, and maybe an sd/USB connected to my Mac because I had walking around back to put SDs in. They're very customizable so I'll have options for people to choose from. Shelves for eGPUs and speaker or whatever is needed. I'll start a topic somewhere on this forum and get some ideas from Mac users since they're usually the people who care about appearance
Post back a link when you do. I'm looking at my desk thinking of things that would be nice to have lol.
