Yeah, I'm just doing the double check to make sure all my old school books are on my list to sell...as they will fund future education :p

My card went into distort mode as I can't seem to find the #'s or strip

Hehehehe...I had a professor once, who would say things like, "Oh, do you still have the textbook from that class, or did you sell it to buy beer?" :D

Mmmmm... yes, magnetic fields get distorted near a black hole. Be careful, young padawan, be very careful!

Mmmm, it's been a day and I'm still iMac horny. :(

Artful Dodger, you fiend, you! ;) :D

I have succumbed.

Actually, any Grammar Nazis please feel free to correct me, as I'm not sure what the proper past tense of "succumb" is. But the spell checker seems to buy off on this one, and whatever it is, I'm there. :)

More next week when I'm officially in iMac bliss. :)

Mmmmm...I think I'm in love. :D

Now I just have to get used to the Apple Wireless KB.... But I think I'm really going to enjoy this thing. :)

I was really surprised that Software Update needed two restarts to install everything. Not that this is sooo bad, coming up from 10.4.0, but still.... I think this is the first time I've heard of a Mac not being able to install everything in one pass.

Hehehe, but now I know how Macs handle first boot with only a wireless kb and wireless mouse. Not too shabbily. Although, I do have to say that I had to turn my kb and mouse on and off a couple times for it to recognize them before they gave up and powered down. But not too shabby. :)

The person at the Apple store today warned me about that and to turn on the BT kb before you turn on the iMac for the first time and the same goes when replacing the batteries. Turn the iMac off, replace, turn kb back on then the iMac... not sure why but maybe someone can shed some light about that, if you don't mind ;)

Actually, this is exactly what *didn't* work for me. The problem is that the iMac polls for new devices, then stops and warns you that it didn't find any, and to turn yours on, and then polls again. But the KB and Mouse will go to sleep if they can't find a host, and will give up trying to be discovered....

This is where Artful Dodger's iMac, which is now my iBook's big sister, is living, for now. A nice little walk-up station. :)

Now I just need the matching keyboard cover, which is on the way. ;)

She loves her little brother, and her little brother loves her too. :D

Yeah... I'd was quite impressed when I set up my aunt's iMac over Christmas but yeah, I had to turn it on and off a couple of times too.

It's not perfect...I think (I'm not sure though) that there are a couple of flaws. I'm not sure you can hold "c" or Option to boot off a disc, and I'm not sure you can boot into open firmware. But I'm not 100% sure. Do you happen to know? Not that I hope for this to be an issue anytime soon. But I don't have access to any USB wired keyboards. :(

Lookin' good mkrishnan. :p

I've been able to get into Safe Mode with my Bluetooth keyboard but haven't managed to boot from a CD or DVD without grabbing the ol' USB bastard. :(

Mmm, shouldn't you still be able to do this by putting the disc in while the computer is still up in OS X and using the Startup Disk option in Sys Prefs?

Hehehehe, so... *still in love with his iMac* ...

Does anyone else reach up to the top lip of their iMac and start to try to fold it over to put it to sleep, until they realize that's not the way it works? :D

No, but I do kiss it there each night before bedtime.
