Have not noticed this particular behavior.Does anyone else also have slow bluetooth trackpad/mouse and keyboard connectivity after reboot?
Every time I restart my iMac Pro it takes 10-20 seconds of my trackpad & keyboard not responding and then being super laggy before it goes back to normal.
Checking in for the first time here - just picked up my new iMac Pro (base model) on Monday. Upgraded to 10.13.4 during initial set up, so can't confirm the status 'out of the box', but I'm seeing the boot rom version in the system report (15.3169.0 as others have reported), and also have the same brightness issue. I'm not interested in the auto brightness feature, so have that disabled. Do a fair amount of video work and colour grading etc, so I like the screen brightness to stay where I've set it ... getting the 'return to c.90% brightness' problem after every reboot (I prefer to turn off rather than sleep), which - as others have said - should not be occurring on a computer at this price point, which in part is designed with graphic-intensive work in mind.
Someone also mentioned a Duet bricking? Mine did the same after I (unsuccessfully) tried the SMC reset for the brightness issue. Assume that USB power is also affected by SMC?; happily my Duet was restored after a full disconnect/reconnect. Sorry for the off-topic, but wondered if that might help the earlier poster with the same issue?
Not as bad as that, but when I restart my iMac Pro, the keyboard takes a few seconds to start responding. I've usually typed the first letter of my password 3 or 4 times before it appears as a dot in the password field. It and the mouse are fine after that, though.Does anyone else also have slow bluetooth trackpad/mouse and keyboard connectivity after reboot?

Yep. Me too.I have exactly the same issue. iMac Pro 8 core. Brightness resets to about 90 percent after each restart (2 bars from maximum.) Did PRAM reset and SMC reset (several times). No effect.
The multiple reboots during that update would seem to indicate that there were firmware updates. But that doesn't rule out a kext not being compatible with the new firmware. This issue popped up on apple discussions forums yesterday as well:
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/8341298
I reported this to apple; hopefully others will as well. I don't think Apple bundled a firmware update for iMac Pro with 10.13.4. My guess is it's a kext issue. Unfortunately apple releases fixes at a tectonic pace, and we will probably have to live with this problem until the next High Sierra update.
My 10-core lists the Boot ROM Version as 15.3169.0.Totally agree. It is the really strange that my iMac Pro does not report the Boot ROM version. Just for grins, I just restarted and checked again...it's still not listed.
Out of curiosity, can other folks with a iMac Pro check and see if the Boot ROM Version is listed under About This Mac > System Report > Hardware (Overview)...I'm curious to see if others are missing that piece of information too.
I am just hoping and praying these issues I am reading about are not hardware related in any way and are just software bugs that can be squashed. Any thoughts on this?I've not found Apple tech support to be much use, to be honest. I reported the problem with which I started this thread and they said that it was the first they'd heard about it, yet it has been fixed in this latest ROM update. Hopefully the new brightness issue will be fixed in the next update.
That is a little bit refreshing to hear that these things can probably be fixed via proper software updates. You are right about them being sloppy though. How do they miss things like this? Don't they turn these machines on and use them with the latest software before releasing updates? These are software issues. 10.13.4 also gave me issues with my MacBook (early 2016). It’s simply Apple being a bit sloppy these days.
I know, and Bootcamp for iMac Pro is still beta, without official support. It works fine with an external sound card, and unofficial graphics drivers, but come on..this is ridiculous. Also, software makers aren't able to access the SMC in Bootcamp, so for instance if you enjoy some gaming you have to set the fan speed in OSX before booting into Windows. Probably another bug/“feature”.That is a little bit refreshing to hear that these things can probably be fixed via proper software updates. You are right about them being sloppy though. Talk to a senior advisor with Apple Care. They will have you upload a log through a tool they email to you. This will go to engineering and then when the senior advisor gets a report from engineering they will report back to you. I already did this and they said there were no reports of this issue and to take the IMac Pro to an Apple store. They will likely tell you the same thing. I refused to take my machine to an Apple Store because this was clearly caused from the 10.13.4 update and an Apple Store obviously can't fix that. Apple will never admit there is a problem with the recent update and outright lie to you and will tell you that they have no other reports of this. What’s the best way to submit something so that you know it reaches their engineers?
Yep, I was lied to as well. "No reports of this issue". Unbelievable that the executive team at Apple condones this. I understand keeping new products under wraps, but why no transparency with known issues? This is horrible customer service. People would feel a lot better knowing that their $5000 plus machine doesn't have a hardware problem and can be fixed with a simple update.Talk to a senior advisor with Apple Care. All they need to say is we are aware of the issue and it will be fixed in the next update release. Instead they take the approach of acting like dummies and outright lie about the issue. I work for a software company in tech support and if an issue is reported, we recreate it and submit it to programming. It is fixed and we release a software update to address the client's issue. It might take a couple of weeks if other issues are being worked on but we are transparent about it. Apple is going down a path that will eventually lead to a bad outcome for them. You are absolutely correct, Steve would not tolerate this sort of garbage. He ran a tight ship. Yes there were issues under him, but they were quickly resolved and were overall far less sloppy in his time IMHO.All they need to say is we are aware of the issue and it will be fixed in the next update release. Yep. Ran 10.13.5 Combo Updater. Problem is not fixed. Still 90 percent brightness on every reboot. Either they are just too absent-minded to fix this, or worse, they can't.Still not fixed in 10.13.5 WOW Apple!
What is most upsetting to me is that the just plain don't seem to listen to their customers. Which to me is insanity. We are their base. We are their beta testers. We are their everything, and yet they just don't listen.Yep. Ran 10.13.5 Combo Updater. Problem is not fixed. Still 90 percent brightness on every reboot. I think this is the last Apple Computer I will buy. Just got a fully loaded Dell XPS 15 with a six core i9 processor, 32 GB RAM and 1TB NVME. 4 K touch screen, which is perfect, 11 hour battery life. Got it for $2,700 from my Dell Rep. There is no way apple will release anything comparable on June 4th. There will be a 16 GB MacBook Pro, maybe with an i9, and it will be north of 4 Grand.
I am just really livid.

This is bad news for everyone with this issue. Since Steve Jobs passed away this company has gone downhill and they are going down faster and faster everyday. Might be time to cut my ties with Apple.that is a smoking deal!!
Here, 10.13.6 fixed the auto-brightness problem. I restarted twice, plus the update reboot and the brightness was set as I left.
It's the firmware update that fixed the issue. I guess they did not have time to roll it into 10.13.5.Here, 10.13.6 fixed the auto-brightness problem. I restarted twice, plus the update reboot and the brightness was set as I left.
