imac quad-core available for apple employee discount?

Does anyone have an idea when the new quad-core imacs become available for apple employee discount?

I got mine using a military/federal employee discount the day it was announced, so I don't see why an employee discount wouldn't also be available right now.

Usually depends on demand. I remember when I worked for Apple, the MBPs weren't available to employees for discount until 6 months after they were introduced...it varies product by product.

Totally understand that there. I have a buddy anxiously waiting for his friend who works there to be able to order one for him... hopefully it will be soon!

I really hope it's by this year and not in 6 months that's WAY too long to wait. I've been waiting since September for them to be released now I have to wait for the discount lol

I am guessing when the "Ships: 7-10 business days" changes to "Ships: 3-5 business days" I'll be able to get it.

No, they don't get listed in the Employee Store until demand settles down. As to how long that may be, who knows - but it's best to just have said person tell you as that person will have a fairly good understanding of when that occurs.

That's what I thought too but they haven't gone to work since the stores received it so I am clueless as of right now lol

No, there is a store that Employees can access independent of the Apple Online Store.

You can't combine discounts, here are the terms.

I was told 25% by my person but I think that only works if they didn't already use the 25% that year or else it's 15% if they didn't already buy one for themselves. otherwise you get none

Apple doesn't keep track of how often the 25% is used...it's just in good faith. I used to use my 25% discount 2 or 3 times a year, asking fellow employees if I could use "theirs" if they weren't buying a machine in that year...so it evened out.

Can you tell me how long it took for the items you bought to be up for the discount? I feel like I've been waiting forever lol some guy in this thread said it could take up to 6 months? is that true? You think hopefully by the end of month or at least year it will be up?

I'm using a friend to get the 27" C2D this week. Seems very simple.

Scenario:
Get him the model# and my zip code (for sales tax).
Give/send him money.
He orders it with the discount through his store.
It ships to my address.

yeah it's simple I just hope the quad core comes out to soon! ahhhhh so anxious!!!
