I called Expercom this afternoon to see if it was still possible to make changes to my order--I was thinking about upgrading to the 10-core--and they told me my iMac has left the factory in China and should be in the US by Monday ?

I'm 95% sure I'll stick with the 8-core now, but they told me I could return and exchange if I decide I want a different configuration.

This is my 4th order from Expercom since 2019 and all my experiences have been positive. It's really easy to get ahold of someone by phone if you have questions or need assistance with an order.

Ordered my i7 from expercom...what a great experience! Saved $180 from a sales they had and got it in under 2 weeks! Was not expecting that!

Looks like mine is arriving way quicker than expected

Ordered Aug 25th
Shipped Aug 28th
Arrived in Brooklyn this morning and is now out for delivery via FedEx.

Original estimate on apple.com was Sept 10-16th
Original estimate on fedex once it changed to "shipped" was Sept 4th
Yesterday it changed the date to Aug 31st (today) before 10:30am but now its 1:30pm now and it hasn't arrived yet... they have since changed it on the fedex site to deliver today before the end of the day so fingers crossed

6 days after ordering... from Shanghai to my door in Brooklyn would be absolutely amazing

im wondering if its because I ordered the i9 VESA mount option. I assume those would be less popular so maybe they have more of them on hand. Anyways Im not celebrating til the package actually arrives

I ordered my 27" on August 20 and it just shipped on August 28. It made it as far as Narita, Japan where it has been sitting for TWO WHOLE DAYS. Anyone else have this experience? How long should it take once it leaves Japan?

Ordered on 8/21...stock machine with 3.3GHz 6-core and 512GB SSD, the only change I made was getting the numeric keyboard and trackpad instead of the mouse, and it was delivered on 8/31 to Michigan (China-Japan-Alaska-Kentucky-Michigan).

I've finally ordered the 3rd tier iMac with the following specs:
  • i7;
  • 8 GB RAM;
  • 2 TB SSD;
  • Radeon Pro 5700;
  • Magic Trackpad 2;
  • Magic Keyboard - US English.
Will replace the Apple RAM with 2x16 GB from Crucial that I've ordered as well.

I'm just slightly concerned that I ordered via the Education Store in UK and I've already been charged for the free Airpods costing £160. Will they deduct that amount when the iMac is getting shipped? I do hope so...

The discount was applied to the cost of your iMac. If you look at your invoice carefully, you should see the discount from the iMac’s price. The amount was shown in red on my invoice, although my order was not placed in the UK.

Yep, you're right. Thanks a lot for clarifying! ??

Well, I ordered 7 days ago and it arrived today, which is super fast considering the BTO storage and graphics options bumped it down to 2-3 weeks. Arrived from Ireland.

However, it’s going straight back to Apple has it had a chip in the aluminium at the back! Outrageous. Someone from the factory just chucked the power cable in the box as well, instead of in the polystyrene insert.

Ah yes, one of my BTO's from Ireland over the years had that. The power cable just chucked in. And I suspect it was the prong from the cable that caused the damage.

My Aug 25th order made it to the US and is scheduled for delivery Thursday.

Time to get the 2019 iMac ready to sell. I’ve been rocking a full 128GB RAM since last week, which is more memory than I have any use for, but I thought it was a good opportunity to test the new modules I purchased for the 2020 model. I’ll sell my 2019 model with 64GB RAM.

So I placed my order on 8/26 with a due date of 9/11 - 9/18. Yesterday Fedex is showing a delivery date of 9/4. This afternoon it changed to 9/9? Also looking at the tracking it was in Tennessee and then shipped back to Japan? Is this normal or some kind of tracking error?

My guess is tracking/scan error. There's no way the package made it to Japan from Memphis in 72 minutes.

Japan to Tennessee crosses the international date line and subtracts a day. The real travel time was 1 day plus 72 minutes.

Japan is 14 hours ahead of Memphis time and it was scanned in China, Tennessee, and Japan in that order.

edit: had my time zones mixed up

Well now it’s in East Boston so hopefully it will show up today. FedEx is still showing a 9/9 delivery date.

Yikes! I’d give them a ring. I ordered an i7, 5700, 1TB from Apple Canada last Tuesday and it's due to arrive today.

You definitely need to call them. I ordered a well specced BTO on the 18th and received it 9 days later in Denmark. Unfortunately I was unlucky and mine was DOA, but you should have to wait that long.

So the FedEx guy showed with my new iMac around 7 pm. I ordered it on August 26th and it got here on September 3rd, so eight days pretty good turn around considering Apple is still showing September 11-15 for delivery.

I ordered the 3rd tier iMac with the following specs:
  • i9;
  • 8 GB RAM;
  • 2 TB SSD;
  • Radeon Pro 5700XT ;
  • Magic Trackpad 2;
  • Magic Keyboard with Numeric Pad- US English
The shipping box smells like it was at a sewage plant. Currently transferring from my old iMac via Ethernet seems to be going along at a pretty good clip. Last time I did this was from a Time Machine backup and that took about fifteen hours. Hopefully this will be quicker.

I finally ordered 27" non CTO highend model. I figured 512 is enough for system drive, and 5500xt is enough for my needs as I run a separate PC desktop for other needs.

I was debating between going 27" iMac or nVidia 3090, and I figured I will probably get the 3090 later when the price is more stabilized.

ouch... ordered 12 august. Others from around those dates still not received? 5700xt.
I wonder how the shipping system works. Reading some of the same stuff with new release camera orders. Some have even preordered, and ppl that have ordered long time after, got it first. Are the first orders just at the bottom of the pile of paper or what...
