Got my iMac, shipped from China. Packaging was immaculate. VESA option is highly underrated IMO, looks amazing!

This is turning into a complete cluster****. UPS said it will be here Wednesday. Then they said, Thursday. Thursday they said today — for sure. Now they said it’s not even in the country yet. That the scans are “paperwork.” Maybe it will be delivered by Wednesday next week.

Do they realize that it has to be signed? Someone has to plan to be here? Jesus.

Strange as it seems, my new iMac arrived via UPS and no signature was required. It was D.O.A. and a goodfella at AppleCare found an Apple store about 90 minutes away that had an identical unit in stock, and arranged for me to return the dead unit and pick up the replacement. I had the store guy unpack and start up the replacement unit to make sure it was OK. It was. :)

I didn’t think stores carried any pre-configured build to order stock. I haven‘t seen any for the configuration I built. That’s awesome. Glad it worked out for you.

First off, thank you to all the people here who contributed to the forum; you made my diagnosis of my old Mac and the decision path for my new Mac much easier.

I ordered on 9/29 and it's been to both Shannon and Dublin (why not fly out of Shannon?) and now it's in Koeln, Germany. The expected delivery date had been 10/8 and today it moved up to 10/7.

Updated on 10/6: the last info that UPS lists is still from 10/2 and my Mac arrived in Germany. I'm thinking I'm not getting it tomorrow. Any thoughts on this? Slow location updating on UPS's part?

I’ve been stuck in “customs released” status since October 1st. Zero movement. If it doesn’t get here by Wednesday I’ll have to do something. I’ll need a computer by then.

Any more luck with speaking to Apple about it?

Mine finally shipped today with a scheduled delivery date of next Tuesday. We’ll see if that happens...

I talked to both Apple and UPS. Both are basically saying they will investigate and so now I have shipping exception status and "we've started an investigation to locate this package." Has anyone ever had them find any misplaced packages?

I am not hopefully to be honest. I need a computer by Wednesday. If they were to re-ship one, it is now being quoted as early to mid November. Agggghhh.

@iMi last year, Best Buy had a similar problem with two of our packages except that they'd already been delivered. UPS / Best Buy was never able to determine that they didn't have them.

I hope that your Mac is found though at this point, I might start looking at what's available locally to you. Depending on the type of work you do and your anticipated travel requirements, you might be mindful of this: https://www.macrumors.com/2020/10/06/apples-t2-chip-unpatchable-security-flaw/

Anyone here worried that Apple will announce new iMac on upcoming 13 Oct event and thinking whether to cancel the order? Mine 27" 5700XT iMac is still in "processing" status. What are your concerns or not concens?

UPS is still listing my Mac as being in Koeln, Germany since the second. Any chance that it's actually going to be delivered tomorrow?

Thanks so much!

I find that to be highly, highly unlikely. I don’t anticipate the redesigned iMac until next summer.

But if it does, I’ll return mine and order again. ?

I’d say that largely depends upon if you live in Koeln, Germany or not. ?

I wouldn’t be surprised if they announced an Apple Silicon MacBook Pro but if they announce an iMac it’ll almost certainly be the small one, not the equivalent of the 27".

Nope; not there! Based on other's experiences, I thought it would go through Kentucky or New Jersey before heading towards me. I was wondering if UPS was just delaying on updating the tracking. It seems odd that it's now on day 4 of the Germany stay.

Is this 27" iMac really the last iMac with intel chips?
If so, whoever need bootcamp should buy it.. right?

Any shipping updates yet on yours?

Mine arrived in Koeln yesterday and it updated two hours ago stating that it left Koeln. Perhaps our Macs are on the same plane?

Yeah! I'm glad one of us has a computer on the move!

The UPS page has been updated to say "In Transit" and "Please check back for scheduled delivery." In other words, they hope it's still in Germany but they have no idea where it is.

Nope I made up my mind I’d rather the last intel iMac than the 1st apple silicon one, happy with my decision

Ordered i7/32GB/1TB/5700XT on Sept 26. Just shipped today (Oct 1) from Ireland, with an estimated delivery of Oct 7 here in California.

Got my iMac yesterday, October 7. It was assembled in Ireland and was sent through Koeln, to Louisville, then finally arrived here in California.

This could be the last iMac with intel chips, or there might be a tweak/update or two before it gives way to Apple Silicon.

I'd say if you need an iMac to be able to do bootcamp this would be a good time to buy.

Love that $285.75 suggested monthly payment for that new iMac. Most of the new cars I've bought in my lifetime had lower monthlies...and those cars include a BMW and a Lotus. :)

So my iMac which I ordered on 9/28 is finally on the move again! Yesterday, I called Apple to start the investigation into what had happened to it. So far, it's been to Shannon, Dublin, an extended stay in Koeln, Germany and has now left Newark. The new delivery date is Tuesday.
