My system actually arrived on the 29th. Due to work and a busy weekend I’ve only started unboxing and adding the RAM (today’s 11/2). It’s gonna be a good week 😄😁.

Just got an update - original shipping notice from Apple indicated Nov 9th but according to UPS my new baby may be here on Thursday, Nov 5th. Pretty stoked but trying to remain calm! It ain't easy!

I got a call on Friday from executive relations person. She was amazing and is working to resolve this crazy issue. This morning I got a notification that the replacement shipped. Arriving in just two days. We’ll see...

Ordered mine an hour before the announcement about next week's event. I would have rather gotten the mid-tier model but the upper tier was the only one with a SSD option above 2TB. Assuming Apple doesn't announce a new iMac next week, a month is a long time to wait... Excited but... 😩😩😩😩😩

So despite an original delivery date of Dec. 9, I was pleasantly surprised that I got a shipping announcement a few days ago. The very weird thing is it's coming from Ireland! I called Apple to verify that and they said yes since it's backordered the one they could get the soonest is coming from the Ireland.

Anybody heard of this before?

I'm aware of the Hong Kong, China shipments but this is the first time I've seen it come from Ireland...

It's UPS...

Same here - my CTO started in Ireland then over to Germany and is now in Louisville, KY. My original date for receipt was 11/9 - based on UPS I should receive my iMac tomorrow before 9pm.

When did it ship? I'm curious if mine will arrive earlier....😳😳😳😳

Shipped on 11/2 from Ireland - left Louisville, KY around 1:40pm today, should be in Philadelphia sometime tonight and then to Delaware and out for delivery. My UPS driver told me today - "if it's in Louisville, it will be here tomorrow".

Thanks so much. The good news is that mine did something very similar to yours. From Ireland to Germany to New Jersey. UPS hasn't officially updated the eta but it looks like it should come tomorrow. I'm very excited...
I'm curious.. I assume yours came with Catalina??? I'm also assuming Apple is going to release Big Sur next week and was wondering if they are already loading some machines with that or Catalina?

Ordered the 8-core 5500 XT iMac on the 20th October through an education reseller (theEDUstore in the UK)
Latest ETA from them was the 25th November apparently...although looking on Apple's website the estimated shipping time looks similar for that model

It's quite a while to wait 😩 shouldn't have sold my old computer already

UPDATE: Received my computer yesterday as UPS tracking said. The machine came with Catalina loaded.

I'll be honest - not sure what is coming with the computer. I am assuming it is Catalina with the option to upgrade once Big Sur comes out. I'll update this if it is something different than Catalina.

Catalina is Apple’s most current production OS. Big Sur is close to release, but the final release version has not dropped yet.

I think Big Sur will release tomorrow after the Apple stream. Big Sur 11.0.1 release candidate was given to developers last week. Not sure if it was put on the public beta site yet.

I’m curious if mine is going to ship with Catalina or Big Sur, since they (probably) release it tomorrow, and my iMac still hasn’t been shipped :( it’s been 2 weeks without any notification...

YES!! 2020 iMac owners didn't get slayed today with the announcement of a new Apple Silicon iMac! 😂

We should be safe until next summer
I have to say I'm a little torn. I'm within the return window for my new one but I was kinda hoping Apple would surprise us yesterday. I'm generally thrilled with my new imac but these big bezels and chin do have to go.... :)

The M1 machines top out at 16GB RAM. You really want to give up your max 128GB headroom? The Mac mini went from 64GB RAM max on intel to 16GB RAM on M1. Also, the 8GB to 16GB RAM upgrade is $200 on every model. Just something to think about.

My new iMac 2020 with Vesa-mount arrived today here in Germany, produced in Irland.
I ordered it from the reseller Mactrade and my waiting time was approx. 5,5 weeks.

I-7
8GB Ram
Std 5K 27" Display
1TB SSD
10G LAN

Just replaced the RAM after a successful migration from my mbp 13" and work now with 32GB Crucial´s.

The M1 is a beast when it comes to power per watt, but in the coming 2-3 years I'd never buy one. I want to have my bootcamp support, and I personally really like the Steve Jobs era design. That said, I received my iMac this afternoon, and my god what a machine. Even gaming in BootCamp (yes, I also bought my iMac for gaming) is amazing. 4K on High settings in most games, and getting steady 60+ FPS with the fans not even ramping up (GPU with a max of 65C)

I notice your sig says you are using 40GB RAM. Take out the 8GB Apple RAM and it will run faster. This is a quirk of the 2020 iMac

I also saw this but what do I do with the original ram then? Isn't that kind of a waste?
