I can tell you the Apple Store won't be able to do anything. They don't have access to the back end of the iCloud/Apple ID system. You'll need to open a ticket with AppleCare Phone Support so they can contact engineering.

I was joking. Friday. iPhone 6s release. :)

I don't even care about the email addresses, I just want iMessage to work on my ipad with my phone number. But I think I need my iCloud ID to work to make that work.

yes, you'll need to have the icloud id signed in and same across all devices.. then you want to receive calls on the ipad and have the caller ID set to your phone ID and start calls from ID as the phone number. It works pretty well.

but don't try and set anything up today - when 10 million around the world are doing the same..you'll just get frustrated.

i think you are not really understanding what is happening. Our problem is that it is not letting us sign into facetime/imessage on any device (including computers) with our iCloud account.

It sounds like the account has been locked or authorized on to many devices.?

its some sort of authentication problem from what I can tell. I currently have an RTA ticket open with engineering, but still no resolution. I've been in contact with Tier 2 iOS support since last Friday.

Best advice make a new account have apple transfer purchases to it. I have done this before they agree to it once a year or at least they used to

keep trying, if you are sure you have the right password it must be a system availability issue. I couldn't get anything to login and authenticate last night at all, no way no how

on my phone iMessage and FaceTime turn on just fine, its the linking of my apple ID to those services. Its an issue with my Apple ID.

Today's update to 9.0.2 says something about iMessage not activating for some users. Hope it's fixed.

Mine started acting up after 4 hours. I enter in my Apple ID info, but the box just hangs.

mine is fixed, my tier 2 guy said my auth token reset.

Good to know. Thanks. It's fine for me with my other Apple ID, but I still might call to have it fixed.

Someone mentioned that they created a new Apple ID and transferred purchases, that Apple will typically do this once a year. If I call would they transfer them from one Apple ID that I gave to another one? Not trying to combine purchases, just combine my one I use for iTunes to the one I use for photos, mail, calendar, etc.

i'm not sure if they'd do that. Did you try logging into iMessage with the old one to see if it works?

So my girlfriends phone is doing this same thing. I have done every single fix mentioned in this entire thread. So I need to call Apple and have them reset the auth token and she should be good to go?
