As of this evening, B&H also has Maxes with 64GB of memory and 24 core graphics in stock with 512GB, 1TB and 2TB SSDs: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/prod...h_z14j_07_mac_studio_64gb_2tb_m1_max_24c.html

See posts #313, 322 and 325 for other Max configurations that B&H has in stock. No Ultras yet.

How do you read their site?
There is no "in stock" indicator, so how do you tell what's actually in stock?

There are several indicators if you hover over the configuration options, but the main positive indicator appears to be 'Add to Cart'

Edit 2:

I'm still not 100% positive they are actually in stock right now or that the stock indicator is live as the "New Item" info icon says this:

Your order will be filled on a first-come-first-served basis.
Orders billed to PayPal, other digital wallets (e.g., Apple Pay or Google Pay) or non-USA addresses will be charged immediately upon checkout.
This suggests that there is a chance you will be put in an order queue . . .

Hi @cinder

I've taken a couple of the B&H "Add to Cart" configurations through checkout, and both times they were available to ship immediately. See this post by @Morseman, who got a B&H shipping notice this morning for the base Max with 2TB SSD discussed in post #325 above; it was on "Preorder" until this morning: https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...read-all-countries-2022.2337026/post-31057593

Yes, B&H has limited quantity and is selling its stock on a first-come-first-serve basis. During the checkout process, you choose a shipping option (or indeed pickup) before you pay. If the computer isn't in stock, there won't be shipping options and you won't be making a payment for immediate shipment. You'll probably be offered a preorder/backorder option.

"In Stock: Not in NYC SuperStore" means that the stock is at B&H's warehouse in New Jersey rather than at the store in Manhattan. This is common B&H practice for new, relatively expensive products for which there's tight supply.

Ok, thanks, that makes sense. :)
I'm tempted to get a slightly different config than I ordered . . . but I would still be without the tilt/height display that I am waiting for (and which is not showing up in stores yet).
I suppose I will be patient . . . I guess . . .

[EDIT: No longer available]

B&H now has two Ultra configurations in stock in addition to the Max configurations discussed above:
Ultra GPU 64 core, Memory 64GB, Storage 2TB and 4TB

The 12 New York City Apple stores haven't had an Ultra in stock for over three weeks.

The delivery window for the Max in my signature is June 27 - July 11. Given recent posts in the Preorder/Order/Delivery thread, I think that there's a good chance that Apple will actually deliver it by the end of May and possibly as early as mid-May. Looking at what's happening with B&H inventory, I think that it might have my configuration in the next week or so. I'd rather buy from Apple, but early May from B&H would be tempting. Because I had a base Max for two weeks, I'm very comfortable with the configuration and not particularly concerned about B&H's no-return policy (short of physical damage/an actual defect) on computers.

As of last night (post #326), B&H has what I want now if I'm prepared to go with 24 rather than 32 GPU cores, but I've decided to stick with my configuration.

FWIW, I chatted with B&H and they don't have any stock on any of them any more... and don't know when they will get additional units of any configuration.

Thanks. Earlier, I added an edit to post #330 just above saying "No longer available", and it's helpful to learn that they're sold out of everything. Not surprised; purchase with B&H's credit card saves the sales tax. They did say "Limited Qty", and checkout now contains the delivery proviso "once all items are in stock".

From BH's product description page, it's possible to be notified by e-mail when a particular configuration is available. My experience with these B&H notices on items that are in demand is that they say specifically that it's first-come-first-served. I'd suggest confirming supply before placing an order. If you make an order, and it turns out that delivery is uncertain, it's fairly straightforward via your B&H account page to cancel the order.

It's now been a month since any of the 12 New York City stores have had a base Ultra available for pickup. The current online delivery window is June 21 - July 6.

The Order/Delivery thread on build-to-order Mac Studios has an increasing number of posts reporting delivery 4 to 6 weeks before the start of the original delivery window. Today, a person in Switzerland who ordered on March 30th says that he's received his Max (24 core GPU, 64GB memory, 2TB SSD) 7½ weeks before the start of his June 21 to July 4 window.

I ordered the same configuration on April 1, except with a 32 core GPU :)

Didn't take long. I received this e-mail from B&H this morning.

Note the first paragraph. I have a request in for B&H to notify me when it has stock of the configuration in my signature specifically.

This is kind of fascinating. Perhaps it makes sense that they just keep really conservative, distant delivery estimates in light of how volatile / unpredictable supply chain and manufacturing are currently, and then if they can overdeliver, then it's a bonus for the customer. Curious to see if yours moves soon ;)

As discussed above, stock at Apple stores of the Ultra has slowed to a trickle. The 12 NY City stores haven't had one in a month. However, a poster in another thread spotted one today at the Apple store in Modesto, California.

Looks like at least one base model M1Max Studio is available at the Apple Store Millenia in Orlando, Florida.

I noticed a few days ago that none of the 12 NY City Apple stores had a base Max. I checked another 10 cities/120 stores across the country and discovered that none of them had a base Max either. This morning, there still isn't an Apple store in NY that has one available.

Today the base Max seems to be available in all Italian Apple Stores.

In the US, Maxes are unavailable at Apple stores in New York, Boston, Miami, Atlanta, Chicago, Minneapolis, Houston, Dallas, Seattle and San Francisco. One out of 12 stores in the Los Angeles area has a Max available for pickup. Haven't checked other cities. Ordered online, the delivery window for a base Max is May 19-26.

None in Florida either.

Note that in our (Italian) case, no Premium Reseller has ever received one, and the only one store chain that states an approximate date has a 5-6 weeks label since the launch in March (almost two months ago!), which I guess it's a formal way to tell, "we don't know when".
It's becoming like having a new car, which here is between 6 and 9 months on average.

I had a look at Apple's US store pickup data for the first time in awhile. It appears that it plans to have base Maxes available in all U.S. stores by June 27th.

A person in Italy says in another thread that many Italian stores have Maxes available for pickup now.
